Boston Pizza

Yes, I know…my first blog about a restaurant and it’s about Boston Pizza?? Well, I can’t help it! I’m just too excited to start adding to my site and it was a middle meeting ground with my dinner buddy for tonight 🙂

Why’s it so bright outside the restaurant??  Alright… you got me, I didn’t actually take an exterior shot of the place since I had forgotten to bring my camera with me, and taking the picture with my phone would have been  just a dark mess.  Ahh, that reminds me….the photos in this post were taken with my blackberry, please bear with me…thanks! 🙂

I’m sure many of you aren’t strangers to Boston Pizza’s pasta tuesday specials, so let’s not waste any time getting to the meal pictures!

My dinner buddy and I decided to order a diet pepsi and iced tea for our drinks.

Has anyone else noticed that their straws are super skinny??  It’s like you have to concentrate on sucking your straw.   I was still thirsty after 1 sip!  Why even bother giving you a straw… I swear it’s just to frustrate you into not getting a refill!

Onto dinner, my buddy ordered the Greek salad with Salmon, it had a mixture of chunks – yes, chunks of cucumber, chunks of onion, chunks of tomatoes, lots of olives on a bed of romaine lettuce.  ***now that I read the menu again, the salad was missing green peppers!

See what I mean about the chunks?   I wasn’t joking!  Here, look again!

According to my buddy, the salmon was tasteless, but the chunky onions were FULL of flavour!  hahah, yes I can tell sitting across from you at the table =)

My meal was also not spectacular, I ordered the Baked Feta and Shrimp Penne.  For some reason I set my expectations high for this dish.  It sounded so appetizing.  ‘Penne tossed in a creamy tomato sauce loaded with shrimp, feta, green onion and fresh mushrooms then baked with pizza mozzarella. Finished with parmesan.’  Listen to all that cheese…. mmm cheese.

This dish was a complete miss.  The sauce was extremely watery, I ended up eating only the penne noodles and left the rest on the plate.  I wasn’t expecting to eat noodles in soup tonight.

***warning…the following 2 pictures are not for the faint of heart***

So, I bet you’re hoping we left once this dish was done, but wait right there!  We were adventurous to see if this dinner could be salvaged with dessert!   We opted to try their Dessert Trio Sampler.

Starting from the left it was their warm brownie drizzled with chocolate, cheesecake with peanuts,  drizzled caramel and chocolate, and on the right was the toffee pudding. The best out of the 3 would be the cheesecake, it tasted more like one of those Turtles chocolates.

Might as well have given me one of these and I would’ve been happy!  haha =)

Your Blackberry photos definitely conveyed the disappointing lack of flavour in the pasta dish… hehehe.
This is awesome! Looking forward to more! =)

I ordered the penne before. I agree with you… it tasted bland.
    A HUGE disappointment!

P.S. Your blog inspired me to go to BP for lunch! Got fettucini bolognese with a side of baked salmon.

I was on a quest for food that would be better than shrimp feta penne!
It was ok. Salmon lacked citrus and there was too much parsley.
