Another gloomy day, so I decided to join my brother and his friends for some pho at Le Petit Saigon in Vancouver. This is one of the pho restaurants that my family frequents quite often. I think it’s because the place is fairly clean, service is quick and efficient, and the soup is so darn tasty! 🙂 Also, I’d like to say thanks to everyone at the table for being good sports and letting me take pics of their food before they ate! So, thank you! Thank you! 🙂
Again I don’t have a picture of the restaurant, but I will take one when I revisit during the day. I tried taking one, but it was way too dark and nothing turned out 🙁 Maybe a photography course should be next on my list! lol Yeah yeah…. laugh it up Marv :p
Here’s 1 of 2 plates of bean sprouts. There were 5 of us at the table, plenty of bean sprouts to go around! 🙂
Steph decided to go with a Shrimp Salad Roll without Bean Sprouts.
Why without bean sprouts? Well, she doesn’t like to eat raw bean sprouts in her salad roll. Good enough reason to omit them! The roll was pretty big, check out the big shrimps wrapped in there! The roll was freshly made and they put a lot of peanuts into their peanut sauce. Usually we would have some spring rolls as well since it is delicious here! Crispy on the outside and flavourful filling … mmm, alright, I’ll have to order some next time! (Yes I know, Bao Chau is right up the street with its famous spring rolls, but I really enjoy the spring rolls here too)
For Stephs meal, she went with #19.
This consisted of well done beef brisket, rare steak and tripe. She said this was very good. I think all their pho is really good, but that’s because their soup is just so darn tasty! Okay.. I know I said that in the beginning, but it really is! 🙂
My brother went with #20
This had rare beef and beef flank. As usual, this was pretty good as well. Everything was tasty…as usual.
Joe and Calvin went with #15
This was the special beef combination. It had beef balls, rare beef, tendon, tripe and beef brisket. Basically…everything! 🙂 According to Joe, this was good and the noodles were a bit chewy. There’s also not as much msg added like other places.
I went with #24
The only meat in this dish was the sliced rare beef(you can’t see it in this picture because I already covered it with my noodles and bean sprouts.) I found the soup to be piping hot and flavourful. The noodles weren’t soggy and I was pretty full after eating the small size.
Overall, I find the food here to be pretty consistent. The rice dishes here are also very good. I’m sure I’ll be back again soon with more posts about Le Petit Saigon! hehe 🙂

Hmm, maybe that’s where I should take Scott to change his thoughts about pho. Thanks for reminding me!
