I was really craving ramen, so Marv and I decided to head into downtown to get my ramen fix! Unfortunately we arrived around 11am, and it wasn’t set to open till 12. Instead of just wasting our parking(I made him park in a metered spot thinking it would be a quick eat), we decided to wander around and stumbled across Michi Waffle & Espresso Bar.
Michi Waffle & Espresso Bar

Inside there are a few tables/booths for you to sit in. The waffles in the display case made it so tempting to have one. I thought the takeout containers on top of the display case to be quite cute! I almost wanted to order my waffle to go just to get a box, but I refrained myself..
Marv decided to try their breakfast special.
It came with coffee. He found this to be a very strong blend. It was a bit thick.
The breakfast special consisted of a Brussels waffle, bacon, 2 sunny side up eggs and mozzarella cheese. This was served warm, there was not much flavour in anything. The bacon was soggy, not crispy.
The picture of the waffle looks good though doesn’t it? Too bad it was disappointing.
I decided to order the Dark Chocolate Waffle shown above on the right. They definitely did not skimp out on the chocolate coating. I found the waffle to be a bit too sweet for my liking. The waffle was soft and chewy, however this was not even comparable to the waffle I had at Cafe Medina(and I didn’t even eat my waffle hot!) I think I will stick with Cafe Medina for my coffee and waffle fix! 🙂

LOOOKs soooooo good though!! but soggy bacon and bland boo 🙁
hahah yeah it did look good! i can’t stand soggy bacon or waffles.. 🙁
Just want to clarify, that brussels waffles aren’t supposed to have much taste to it. This isn’t “pancake” waffle that NA eat. Sorry about the rant here, but I just came back from Brussels after living there for 2 years. I couldn’t find any shops here making brussels waffle. I’ve tried michi’s too, I have say I prefer their waffles, both liege and brussels. I didn’t like their red bean filled waffles though, strange.
I like Medina’s waffles too. It’s different with margarine in it, and I didn’t like the fact that they bought the pre-made dough from supplier.
