I’ve been wanting to take a visit to the Waffle House for awhile now. I’ve been having a crazy obsession with Waffles! We’ve tried visiting this restaurant once before but unfortunately SOMEONE said the restaurant was closed when we drove by… however he AS THE PASSENGER was looking at the wrong restaurant as I drove slowly past the street so I did not stop to double check since I trusted him. This time around I learned my lesson, HE would not be trusted again!! This time I parked and we walked to the restaurant to check it out 🙂

Upon entering the restaurant, we were promptly greeted and led to our table by the window. Score! We got a window seat..ahah I love window seats. We noticed there was an abundance of seniors enjoying their breakfast in this restaurant, and since Marvs getting up there in age, he felt like he fit right in! 🙂
The water came to our table as we were seated, followed by an offering of coffee. We both decided to get a cup of coffee as it was still too early to be up on a sunday morning.
Coffee was coffee…Marv drank FOUR CUPS… with like a pound of sugar in each cup….while I looked on in horror haha!
Marv decided to go with the Mushroom and Cheese Omelette.
This was not satisfying for Marv. I’m not completely sure why he decided to order a CHEESE OMELETTE when he’s lactose intolerant..and had to give me all the cheese parts of his omelette. He also thought the shredded hashbrowns was soggy, not crispy and did not enjoy it at all. I think it should be noted that Marv does not enjoy western breakfast cuisines since he claims it’s too boring.
I decided to go with the Waffle House Special.
This had 2 eggs, pan fried potatoes, 1 plain waffle, 2 sausages and 2 bacon. I decided not to go with any bacon and opted for sausage instead as I don’t enjoy bacon at all. They were happy to oblige 🙂 I found my dish to be on par with other breakfast joints. The waffle did get a bit soggy, but I think that’s just due to everything else that was piled on top of it. I had to trade off some of my food for the cheese :p
Last but not least, Marvs breakfast came with sourdough toast.
He hasn’t had peanut butter in ages, so he jumped in joy at first sight! He did manage to share 1 slice with me and showed me how to put more….SUGAR onto the peanut butter spread. It was actually quite good! Overall, service was quick and friendly, but I don’t think we’ll be returning as it was a bit far and we could get better breakfast meals closer to Vancouver.

For a moment I got excited and thought that Waffle House is opening outlets in Canada. Guess we gotta wait bit more! 🙁 Ben
I was wondering if you would consider installing the “subscribe to comments” widget on your blog. That way I am notified once someone commented on this post. Otherwise I would need to check this post for updates. Ben
