Homemade Valentine’s Day Dinner

February 15, 2011 8:28 am / 10 Comments / 604munchies

It’s Valentine’s Day!  Marv decided to surprise me with a home cooked meal, so after work, I made my way over to his house and was presented with the menu below =)

Alright, the menu is catered to my food preferences lol!  Especially the mac ‘n cheese!  Mmmm!!  So after reading this, I was anticipating each serving =D

First to arrive to my placemat was a Crescent Roll stuffed with Havarti Cheese with a hint of garlic shown below on the left.  This was delicious!  I love bread with cheese!  haha, I probably would’ve ate it all, but I wanted to save room for the rest of the dishes 🙂

Following the crescent roll was the Mixed Greens with Mandarin Oranges. It was dressed with a secret recipe that he would not share with me!  Lol  Nonetheless, still yummy 🙂

Next up was the highly anticipated Mac ‘n Cheese.

Well, I should’ve taken some photos once I took a spoonful, but it was so good that I forgot to(or maybe I just didn’t want to put the fork down!) lol! 🙂   Totally loved this dish! 🙂

Next up was the Lamb Kebobs on Garlic Naan with Jalapeno Bombers.

Marv used grounded lamb meat, garlic, onions and red/green peppers to prepare the lamb.  For the spices, he used paprika, cayenne, ground coriander, cumin, salt and pepper.  There was ample amounts of lamb on each kebab!  I enjoyed wrapping the naan bread around each piece of lamb.  It was great! 🙂

More food?!!?  Next was a Pan Seared Sea Bass on a bed of White Nugget Potatoes.

The potatoes were thinly sliced and was soft to eat.  The sea bass was cooked to perfection.  Check out the picture once I took a bite! 🙂  The potatos were baked in the oven with seasonal herbs and truffle oil.  The sea bass was pan seared in butter and olive oil, crusted with ancho chili’s and garlic powder.

Well, I found the fish to be quite flaky!  Overall, there was soooooo much food! LOL!!   And dessert was up next!

The Chocolate Tart is shown above on the right.  Marv confessed and said he had help from his sister on this one!  Thanks Marvs sis!  🙂  I love chocolate!  This was taken before the coconut was put on top.  Once my slice was plated, I gobbled it down before we even took a picture lol!  My bad =)

Annnnnd as if that meal wasn’t enough of a surprise, Marv decided to surprise me at work with a bouquet of yellow flowers! 🙂   Awww!  Brownie Points! lol! 🙂

Heehee, do you also like my new bear balloon below?!

SOOO CUTE!!! 🙂

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

WOW! Spectacular job, Marv! Love the handwritten menu — too cute! Everything looks so good and professional and yummy! All I did was fried chicken pieces and drew a heart with the ketchup on the plate. =D

…and I see you still went with the orange flowers. Mm-hmm. *noted*
