Sweet Obession

I have never been inside this cake shop before but I have driven past this place numerous times.  You see, I’m not a fan of sweets in general, but Colleen wanted to have a quick taste and off we went.  I do have a cake shop I frequent in Kerrisdale but I like exploring new places.

Sweet Obsession Cakes & Pastries
2611 W 16th Ave, Vancouver BC
Tel#:  (604) 739-0555

Upon entering the shop I was immediately drawn to the counter of deliciously looking cakes. No lie, I made a right turn into it.

They are all very well made cakes and the selection was quite extensive. I had no idea which to try.

Felt like I was a kid in a candy store 😀

After we sat ourselves,  we were given a menu and decided to get a cup of regular coffee.

I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the little table we sat on, it had a very cafe feel to it.  Sooner than later our cakes arrived.

Colleen suggested I try the Chocolate HAZELNUT ZUCCOTTO.  One bite out of my hazelnut filling and I became a born again cake lover.

My god!  The texture and that ridiculously luscious cream was insane. I don’t believe I have ever had such a moving experience eating a cake before, but I couldn’t expose my immediate love for the cake, so I played it cool with Colleen……said the cake was alright, very good and left it like that. lol

Colleen went with the Chocolate GANACHE Cake. This turned out to be very rich, but quite tasty.  They served up a pretty big slice!

No longer will I let myself eat tasteless bland pathetic useless cakes from other shops.  The bar has been set.  So save me a parking spot out front cause I’m here for my pick up order! 🙂

To call a cake insane must’ve been quite awakening. Cute post!

haha it definitely was since cakes/pastries aren’t at the top of his list =) I gotta admit, the slice of hazelnut zuccoto trumped my slice of ganache =)
