Alright, the real reason we were in Union Square! Lol, after reading about Honey Toast on O My Sweet Tooth’s blog, I knew we had to come give it a try! I’m also a die-hard dessert lover, and I was not about to pass up an opportunity to try this out! 🙂 Thanks to O My Sweet Tooth for alerting everyone on this! 🙂

When we arrived, the place was pretty empty, actually we were the only customers there lol! That’s alright, nothing was going to stop me from finally trying out honey toast! 🙂 I was fairly excited after seeing the pictures!
There seemed to be an abundance of workers for this tiny place. I counted at least 6 people in the front of the restaurant and a couple more that would appear from the kitchen! I’m guessing that this place was still fairly new since they were doing some minor renovations when we were there.
There’s a $3.00/person minimum order for dining in, we decided to order the Honey Toast right away before we even finished sitting down, we figured we’d try to cut down on the wait time. The cutlery we were given was also dirty. I would’ve thought the waitress would’ve noticed it as she placed it down.
Marv decided to get the Fresh Taro & Coconut Smoothie with Pudding. This was very thick but yummy.
Well, I decided to go with the Milk Tea with Mango Jelly Stars. Is it just me or is the cups here a bit foggy too? Makes me wonder how they wash their dishes here..
Anyways! The milk tea was pretty good, not too sweet and went well with the stars. It’s actually quite a big amount of drink that they give you. I wasn’t able to finish it all.
And here’s the highly anticipated Honey Toast.
And the verdict?? I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed when it arrived to the table. It did not look like the pictures from Elaine’s blog! I think I ended up pouting about it for a while before finally digging in lol!
Since I’ve never had this before, so I have no idea how it should be/taste like. It ended up taking 30 mins to arrive to our table. Inside the bread cube, there are sticks of toasted honey bread with a huge scoop of ice cream with some fruit on top. I wish there was more ice cream and chocolate drizzle for this dish. Although it was good, it could’ve been a whole lot better! This ended up costing us $7.99.
Overall, I was a bit disappointed it was not presented the same way(okay fine, I’ll stop pouting now), but I’m hoping that since the place is still fairly new, that they’ll be more consistent in the future.

Oh wow, it does look different! Your toast does not look as pretty as her version.
I still want to check out this place … why are all the cool places in Richmond?
the mugs are so cool! However.. what you said about the foggy mugs and dirty cutlery makes me iffy…..
i want to try the honey toast! its still pretty.
jelly stars! WOW!
Lol, yeah, do try it out and let me know how you like it! =) honey toast is my new obsession….thanks a lot elaine! =Þ hahaa
Yeah they need to come up with a better system for the honey toast. It takes way too long and the inconsistency irks people @_@ The royalty will wear off when other restaurants begin introducing this product too…
