No 1 Beef Noodle House

This is another place that we’ve tried to visit numerous times, however the parking lot is always so full!  Fine, it might also have to do with the fact that I don’t like to do anything early on the weekends, but in my defense, if I have to wake up early on regular work days, then the weekends should be left for sleeping in!  I need to recharge after a work week! 🙂   So since I’ve been craving beef noodle soup lately, Marv made it a point to get me going earlier than usual and yes, we did get a parking spot jeesh! :p

We were the 1st customers inside(always.. I’m getting used to it now)  We were greeted promptly and seated immediately.  The restaurant looked very spacious and would be able to seat quite a number of people.  I just wish they had more parking available.

They have a black board listed with specials on the wall, along with a list of favourites.  So from there, we decided on what to order.

Recently, I’ve also been on a binge of pudding milk tea, so when I saw a Chocolate Pudding Milk Tea, I knew I had to order it!  This was very chocolatey.  I thought this drink was good, but I think I’ll stick with a regular pudding milk tea from now on.  Marv ended up stealing my drink towards the end of the meal claiming that I looked full, however I always drink my drinks near the end of my meal! 🙁   Above right is Marvs order.  He went with the Salty Peppery Chicken Noodle in Soup.

The Chicken nuggets were particularly tasty, well spiced and tender.  Portion wise, there was a generous amount of noodles, but he found the soup broth to be a bit weak.

Well, I decided to try the Beef Brisket in Noodle Soup. This was a solid choice.  The noodle portion was again quite generous.  The broth was very well flavoured, and there was ample amounts of beef brisket.

We also decided to try out their Beef in Chinese Pancake since it was also listed on the wall as a favourite.  This was just alright, we both prefer the one we had at YY Village more.  This just wasn’t as crispy and fluffy as YY’s.  Overall, since this place is closer to where I live, I’d come back for a bowl of beef noodle soup 🙂

Every time I want to go here, I am so torn! Being one of the most filthiest restaurants in Vancouver … it makes my stomach turn. But the beef noodle is so good!

      >< Great. Now I'm going to be checking VCH's website before I step into any restaurant. It was bad enough I found a cockroach right inside my steamed bun @ New Town Bakery. Design Girl: I know how you feel, my fiance keeps telling me how great the Apple Pies are at New Town but I just can't bring myself to trying one. That damn cockroach was at least an inch long *gag*
