Thanks to the recommendation of Food For Buddha and ChowTimes, I made my way over to Green Lemongrass for dinner with my dad and Marv. The parking lot is quite tiny, but there was enough spots as the other shops were already closed for the day. Parking on the street was also already quite crowded, I’m guessing it’s a lot harder to find parking when the other stores in the small plaza are open.

We were seated by the window, the heater seemed to have been on full blast. My leg was quite hot throughout the meal, I think next time I’ll opt to sit towards the middle of the room. =)
The teapot that the tea came in was quite big. I like this a lot better since we wouldn’t need to get many refills(Marv ‘n my dad like to drink a lot…seriously like a LOT) lol!
We decided to get an order of their Spring Rolls to start. This was quite oily, in fact it was just glistening from all the oil that was still left on it. I would’ve preferred the skin to be a bit crispier, but it might’ve been just the oil that made it a bit soggy.
Next up was the Phnom Penh Roll. We thought this sounded good, so we decided to give it a try. We found there wasn’t enough meat to it, the vegetables in the roll were fresh.
Marvs dish was the Seafood with Egg Noodle. There was a generous portion of egg noodles. These were nicely chewy and not soft.
My dad decided to get the Beef Ribs on Vermicelli. Lately he’s been on a beef rib binge! He said the meat was pretty tasty, not overcooked and quite flavourful. The vermicelli was okay, nothing special about it.
And I decided to order the Lemongrass Chicken with Shredded Pork and Vietnamese Ham on Rice. We all noticed this was a massive portion once it arrived to our table.
There was so much meat that I couldn’t even see the rice until I dug around for it. The chicken was nicely flavoured and juicy! I can’t stand dry chicken. I enjoyed drowning my rice in their fish sauce, for some reason it just makes plain rice 1000 times better! The veggies on the plate were fresh and still crunchy. The drink on the right is their 3 bean drink. I never understood why these drinks always come with such a huge chunk of ice at the top. Why couldn’t it be a bit smaller? I always have the hardest time trying to break down the ice, and end up splling a lot of it onto the table. Yes, I am clumsy :p
Overall, food was pretty solid here, service was also pretty attentive. The place filled up pretty quickly during our meal here. Other than the parking, it’s a pretty good place for a meal. Thanks again for the recommendation Chow Times and Food For Buddha! =)

Munchies, you’re very welcome for the recommendation. It’s too bad you got sub-par spring rolls, but overall, we’re glad that they are still good. We haven’t been back for a while, but intend to, since this isn’t too far from us.
We’re also looking to go back to this location specifically.. we went to the one in richmond yesterday and was disappointed with our rice dish, and our banh mi bread was waaaay too crispy! It just crumbled as you bit into it lol
mmmm mmmm mmmmmmmm Looks pretty good!! =)
Wow, I didn’t know that there was a Green Lemongrass in Vancouver too. I think this is owned by the same one as the one in Richmond on Westminster Hwy. I remember sitting next to the heater and it was really warm there too — but that was in winter so it was pretty nice. haha
Nice blog btw 😀 I’m definitely interested in going to the places you go to. (Same tastes? haha)
Welcome to our blog! 🙂
I think they are the same owners too.. lol we just visited their richmond location yesterday..but we prefer their vancouver location more.
Thanks for visiting, I also checked out your site and am looking forward to reading more of your reviews =)
