As I was growing up, my family enjoyed dining at Swiss Chalet. It has a nice family oriented feel to it. I find their parking lot fills up really quickly! Our waitress said it’s okay to park in the ICBC parking lot and the overflow lot behind their lot(only when icbc is closed for the day.) It’d be nice if there were signs outside that said that.

We arrived fairly early(as usual) and the place was about 1/2 full. We were greeted and led to our table. Marv ‘n I were meeting my dad there for dinner tonight, so Marv was on his best behaviour! Lol jk, my dad isn’t scary…at all… 🙂
My dad likes to order whatever’s on special, so this time it was the 1/2 chicken & side with soup! Marv also ordered the same thing.
The Chicken Noodle Soup was served piping hot! It was actually quite a hearty bowl of soup, there was lots of noodles and chicken in the bowl.
And here’s the 1/2 Chicken with Fries. My dad and Marv ordered the exact same meal lol! Parts of the chicken was a bit burnt, as were the fries. It was just too much food for my dad, so Marv ended up finishing off his chicken as well(so if we calculate it properly, Marv had a whole chicken that night!) LOL!
And I decided to go with the Chicken Pot Pie with Fries. This is my signature dish, I always always always order this when I come to Swiss Chalet. This time, the crust wasn’t as crispy as I normally like it, and the filling was too thin.
Overall, the meal was decent, it was definitely filling! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Oh, that reminds me! Does anyone like the swiss chalet sauce that the chicken comes with?! Everyone that I’ve asked always exchanges it for gravy.. lol, just curious if anyone actually likes the chalet dipping sauce…anyone?? =)

YES I LOVE THE CHALET DIPPING SAUCE! It’s a nice alternative to gravy for your chicken and your mashed potatoes. It’s a little more zingy and doesn’t congeal, but I’m not sure how well it goes with fries. In fact I think I just might have a packet of it (they sell the powder at grocery stores) at home.
The soup looks delicious! I’ve never dined in at Swiss Chalet, always had takeout.
