Fraser Park visit #4

May 3, 2011 6:00 am / 4 Comments / 604munchies

We made plans with Food For Buddha to have breakfast together at their atf place to eat. But since it was on a saturday neither of us wanted to go have an ‘early’ breakfast. lol So it ended up more of a lunch thing.  I don’t think I can ever mention enough how much we enjoy the company of BB/BG….the eating part is just an excuse to get together lol.

Anton got us started with some of his carrot salad mix and pickled beets! I love beets, and how lucky was I that no one else appreciate the delicate sweetness of a beet? Super lucky! lol The carrot salad mix was very fresh, I’m pretty sure Anton shredded them up himself earlier in the morning as it still retained a generous crunch to it. As far as the pickled beets were concerned, maybe a little sweeter according to my taste buds but it was a refreshing alternative to contrast the huge portions of pork to follow. hehe

BB ordered us a pulled pork dip sandwich to share amongst us. It had to be shared considering the portion they served here at FP, and for the side we opted for the potato pancakes. The pork itself was not skimpy and the gravy to dip was very rich. I enjoyed this order very much.  The potato pancakes were already on Colleen’s plate before I could cut up my share hahaha.

The german breakfast is Colleen’s order, she didn’t get to have any the other day prior because we just didn’t have any time at all to eat but today was different, today was 5 cups of coffee and an entire plate of breakfast food. Colleen was happy. The hash browns that are served with this dish is absolutely incredible. I think its the bacon fat or butter………either way it doesn’t matter, they are good and you should try em! A very hearty and generous portion once again and very consistent in terms of its serving and preparation. This also includes a side of toast.

This is a BG/BB must have!  And this is since the last time we ate here too, the pork burger. With extra bacon!! And I must agree, I don’t really see much pork burgers on other menus anywhere else than here. And Anton does it well, not to be confused with a breakfast sausage from McD’s or anything like that. This is proper ground pork seasoned to perfection.  And as for the side dish, corn chowder was today’s soup. This is where I am truly impressed, any soup, and I mean any type of soup is delicious here at FP.  I’ve tried several and have yet to be disappointed, so there I give up, can’t criticize anything about the soup. They are all that good! And the best way to indicate it is when you look around in the restaurant and every table has soup on them. There, enough said.

And BB added a BOTR – Breakfast On The Run………its basically all the stuff you need for a quick one handed meal in a bun. lol Sausage/egg/tomato/lettuce/bacon LOL! I was already too full to even attempt this sandwich. My order was the pork schnitzel sandwich. I’ve been eying this for a while now. But even as the words left my mouth, I was secretly wanting their club sandwich once more. What is it with me and a club sandwich. LMAO I think its the whole triple decker thing that attracts me to it. Back to the schnitzel….I too enjoyed this. The pork was well flavored but it needed a key ingredient….their house hot sauce (not pictured, and thx to BB for grabbing it for me!) I slathered that thick and devoured my half in less than a minute. LOL

I’d like to personally thank BG for never letting my tea cup go empty!  =)

Both Colleen and I won’t be able to visit FP on this final week before they close for a month. But this you can count on come June, that table at the back will be reserved once again and the four of us will return and order up a feast once more.   Stay strong and stay true FP see you guys in June.
