It was a lazy Sunday morning, and I had to do some grocery shopping. Marv ‘n I decided to try to get my grocery shopping done early in the morning to avoid the lineups, but it took me a while to decide to get up lol! After groceries, I was able to coerce Marv eat at ABC Country Restaurant so I can have my fix of western breakfast food lol! As usual, he was a sport and accompanied me saying, ‘they better have burgers there..’ lol! 🙂

Upon arriving at the restaurant, there was ample parking since it is attached to a motel. We were greeted as we opened the doors and guided to our seat.
The place was quite busy, we ended being seated waaay at the back of the restaurant lol! I of course had to have my coffee fix for the day! Don’t worry, not 7 cups like last time =)
Marv was debating between 1 of the burgers or the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The pork prevailed! It was slow roasted pork with sauteed onions, mayo and honey gold BBQ sauce. This was served with fries and coleslaw. The pork was very tender and juicy. This was served piping hot! I ended up burning my mouth while trying to take a bite lol! I’ll remember to take it slow next time!
And I went with the Farmhand’s Favourite. It had 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 bacon(which I substituted for more sausage), hashbrowns and toast. This was very filling! The potatoes were nicely seasoned, the eggs were bland. A couple of the sausages were far too overcooked. I was unable to finish all this food, so Marv had to graciously help me out =)
The above is the Farmer’s Sausage Skillet. This had mozzerella and cheddar on top of hashbrowns, tomatoes, green onions, green peppers, & mushrooms. Marv enjoyed this dish, even though he’s made it clear he’s not a breakfast eater =Þ. This was not eaten in the restaurant, it was leftovers from a takeout order.
Overall, I enjoyed our experience at ABC, our server was courteous and very efficient on refills and checking on us in good intervals. Food-wise, it was just alright for a breakfast stop, the pulled pork was quite good. I think we’ll stick to ordering off their lunch menu from now on. =)

Hmm. And I thought you pretty much can’t overcook sausage!! I tried the ABC near Boundary and Lougheed and I had poor service (they told us it would be a 45 min wait, turns out it was more like an hour and a half!!) and I ordered fish & chips … they accidentally made the “senior’s fish & chips” for me which only has one piece. And I was going to tell them but all the waiters avoided eye contact with me until some minutes later they brought me a second piece of fish and apologized for their mistake. Took a while to get water / drinks as well (and I think they didn’t have ginger ale???) The fish & chips were decent but still, not enough to make me return.
