I haven’t been to Browns in years and had remembered it was not too shabby, so I thought it was time to revisit. This time, Marv ‘n his sister joined me for lunch! =) I was still feeling a bit groggy this particular morning,
Browns Social House
Unit 1020-11660 Steveston Hwy, Richmond BC
Tel#: (604) 275-3322
We were seated in the bar area with some pretty high chairs. It even made me feel pretty short trying to climb up onto it and I’m already semi tall! lol =) I was a bit disappointed to see that our coasters were dirty where our drinks rest on.
The place was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. I’d say we got there at about 1pm-ish. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to eat. I had originally wanted something along the lines of breakfast, but none of the options jumped out at me.
Marvs sis went with the Tahitian Tuna served with Almond Rice and a Cowgirl Salad(above left). The cowgirl salad has candied walnuts, dates, tomatoes, corn, soy beans & feta cheese with an apple-miso vinaigrette. This dish was just okay. The tuna was nicely cooked. We could not taste anything different with the rice.
Marv chose the Fire Roasted Tomato Fettuccine. It came with blackened chicken and flatbread. I think the best part of this dish was the flatbread! The rest of the dish was your average run of the mill pasta dish. Nothing special here.
The Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger was the choice I went with. It had jack cheese, bacon and chili mayo. This was so juicy! I loved how flavourful this sandwich was. I was pleasantly surprised =)
Overall, service was good. Our waitress was attentive and was quick to refill our drinks. The food was a bit of a hit and miss. We found the menu selection to be quite small compared to places similar to this.
