It was a gorgeous Sunday morning, and Marv wanted to go to a car meet, so I agreed to accompany him(He’s just lucky I have an interest in cars as well) =Þ Afterwards, I had made plans with Laura for breakfast/brunch at Zawa on Commercial. Since I had joined Marv for the car meet, he had to join us for his most hated meal of the day =) So off to Zawa we went!
Zawa
920 Commercial Dr, Vancouver BC
Tel#: (604) 255-0470
None of us have ever been here before, but figured we could try it out. Inside, there seemed to be only 2 people working. 1 in front and 1 cook. With that said, service was lacking. Food seemed to take a long time out of the kitchen and refills were non-existent.
Laura decided to go with the Perfect Breakfast. This came with 2 eggs, hash browns, toast and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham. Laura decided to have both bacon and sausage for her meal. It was a typical breakfast. The bacon was crisp and not overcooked. The hash browns were nicely seasoned and very tasty.
Marv decided to get the Deluxe Burger. This had cheddar, swiss, double smoked bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms! The burger was just okay, nothing special about it.
And I had to have my cup of coffee(which got refilled 1/2way when he ran out of coffee in his pot and never returned again to fill it properly.) I had originally wanted to order breakfast as well, but I had a change of mind and decided on the Fish and Chips. I did not enjoy this. The fish looked like something you could buy in the frozen food section and make at home yourself. It was also overly crisp.
Overall, we found the food to be sub-par. Service was also lacking. If you are coming here, the breakfast seemed to have been spot on. We probably won’t be revisiting again, there are better breakfast joints to visit in Vancouver. =)
