7th Heaven

Restaurant is now closed

I know it’s closed, but this was scheduled to be posted anyways..

Marv ‘n I ended up heading over to Aberdeen after work since he had to pick up a package from NCIX.  He suggested we head over to 7th Heaven Cafe for dinner.  I knew I should’ve stopped him since the previous visit, I found the food to be less than favourable, but I decided to give them another try.

7th Heaven Cafe
4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond BC
Tel#:  (604) 295-6777

We were promptly greeted at the door and led to our table.  Not much has changed since the last time I was here.  I remember the first couple of visits when the place had first opened, it was so crowded and busy!  Now it’s extremely empty, there was only 2 other tables occupied the entire time we were there.  What a shame.

Marv decided to go with the Baked Pork Chop with Tomato Sauce on Rice.

He found the pork chop to be quite dry and it came pre-sliced.  The rice had no flavor and was quite bland.  He ended up adding a ton of salt to this dish.

So, I decided to try the Baked Fish Fillet with Corn Cream Sauce on Rice. The fish was pretty moist, but I also found this dish to be lacking flavour.

We both ended up being disappointed in our meals.  It was extremely heavy and we were unable to finish it.  We found the prices to be a bit expensive for this type of food(I guess that’s why the place is so empty now)  And it also looks like they had just increased their prices too as each item had a handwritten price on taped on top of it.

Yea, this place closed and recently I saw a newspaper ad saying the new restaurant, ABC Cafe, is owned and operated by a chef from a well-known restaurant in HK, Hugo, one of the fine dining establishments…makes me wonder…a find dining chef opening a cafe??? Hmmm…
