Tapioca Express

Since we were already in this plaza, we decided to make a stop at Tapioca Express for a quick snack/drink before meeting up with my friends for dinner.  Marv was really craving some taiwanese chicken nuggets, so we decided to give it a try here since we had heard it was good. =)  What I like the most about this place, is that for their drinks, you get a choice in size of tapioca pearls as well as the size of the drink!

Tapioca Express
1438-8388 Capstan Way, Richmond BC
Tel#:  (604) 278-4998

Once you enter the place, the menu is listed on the wall to your right.  I find it to be quite extensive!  It took me a good minute or 2 to look through the selection to see if they had what I wanted.

You place your order at the counter and are then handed this buzzer to keep with you until your order is ready.  I thought this was pretty neat since I don’t enjoy hovering around the pickup counter with everyone else trying to get their order first lol =)  After a short wait, our buzzer started vibrating/ringing and off Marv went to pick up our order.

We had decided to go with a combo, since it offered the chicken nuggets and 1 drink.  We also added another drink for myself. The above left drink is my Pudding Milk Tea. It looks pretty much identical to Marvs drink on the right!  It was pretty sweet, and I enjoyed how the pudding was still intact in the drink.  I hate it when they mix up/crush the pudding for you.  Marv ordered the regular Milk Tea with Pearls. We thought there was a generous amount of pearls in this drink.  The Chicken Nuggets was crisp and not as flavourful as we would have liked.  We ordered this nonspicy, perhaps that was our mistake.  Next time we’ll try it spicy and see if it makes any difference. =)

I use to come here all the time, I find that their Crispy Chicken nuggets are different from other places because of the basil they put in, but now it’s gone. :/
