Tsim Chai Noodles

My family eats here on a regular basis, good portions, taste and decent pricing is always a good enough reason for us.  This time was no different.  After a long day of driving around and running errands, the whole family (including colleen) was super tired and hungry.  The easiest decision of the day was to end up here for a quick meal.   It’s not as busy as it use to be but that’s better for us.

The interior decor in nothing special, very typical chinese restaurant.  Parking here sucks too but it is because there are 3 other restaurants in this same lot.  Once we got seated and stuff, we all decided to pick an item each of the menu and go from there.

My dad’s choice is their sweet and sour pork.  Its pretty well done here, it has the right crispy texture on the pork and the sauce ain’t too sour or too sweet.  As you can see from the picture, they are fairly generous with the portions.  Colleen and my dad ate this up quicks.

So, I ordered the deep fried wontons.   It used to be filled with more shrimp.  booooo!   It don’t matter, I still like this and I really like the texture of deep fried wontons.

Colleen ordered the fook chow fried rice.  We all really enjoyed this.  It had an excellent mix of flavors.  Quite filling if you order this fried rice on its own, its a repeat for me.  I have no idea why the pictures are doing a 2 tone thingy here, so yellow on the second shot, so sensitive to light, aiyeeee.

My mom decided on the assorted tofu hot pot, just looking at this picture makes me wanna order this again, its filled with a mix of tofu/shrimp/bbq pork/scallop and more……. definitely a great dish to please a random mix of taste buds.  It has everything.  lol

Sis opted for our regular favorite, oyster hot pot.  A basic mix of green onions and onions to accompany the oysters who’ve been deep fried a little to give it a crisp texture,  I think its the sauce which I like best, I can’t really explain it here, I’m no cook but its soo yummy with the onions.  LOL

Overall, our meal here was filling and well priced.  This restaurant also serves various types of noodle dishes and lunch specials for cheap.  I will definitely keep coming back and probably order the same things again, lol.  A funny story, last time colleen and I was here, a friend of hers took a picture of us and sent it to colleen via email,  when I looked at the picture I was a bit surprised, I was like “that’s us!  Who took the pix?” hahahaaha “you have a stalker!” hahahaha  It turned out that her friend was sitting across the room and we didn’t even notice him there.  We’ll get you back stalker dude !!

I’ve never tried the deep friend wontons here, but it seems like they’re the same ones as the wontons with noodle/soup. Looks good! have to give it a try next time 🙂
