Kraus Berry Farm

Lately, Marv has been complying with my wishes of venturing off into the suburbs to visit Farmer Markets and exploring what’s out there.  We came across Kraus Berry Farm and saw all the baked goods this place offered so we decided to take a trip out to Langley and see what goodies we could bring back!  So after having lunch at Estrella’s, we made our way to Kraus and found the place to be bustling!  It was hard to find parking in their huge lot.  We didn’t even know where to begin, do we line up for their food first? or shop around int heir market?!  What to do… we decided to head into the market as I had just eyed a woman walking past me with this scrumptiously looking pie.  I just had to get one to try!

And here it is, the pie I had been waiting for.  We managed to purchase a few other items while we were there, but this is what I knew we were destined to eat here.  A Mixed Berry Custard Pie.  I love anything with custard and I knew I would love this pie.  We debated if we should eat it right away or not, so we decided to leave it in the trunk while we went to another market.  That wasn’t a wise decision, as it began to melt, so we made a stop into a parking lot and started munching away at the pie inside the car.  Yes, there were a lot of people walking by and just stared as we tried to wolf down as much as we could.  After Marv was stuffed, we decided to continue our drive back home..but unfortunately there was a huge traffic jam which led to us inching bumper to bumper for a long time.  With the pie melting away, I knew I had to do something, so there I was, eating the pie while we inched along with dozens of people in cars staring at me while we passed lol  Pfft, I bet they were just jealous they didn’t have a pie to munch on during the drive 🙂

Have you made it out to the Trout Lake Farmer’s Market? I just went recently and it was pretty busy there, very cool. I checked out the Pure Bread stand, which had this super yummy banana brownie! Their menu had lavender earl grey scone but they didn’t have it available, I would’ve loved to have tried that.
