Pin Pin visit #2

September 12, 2011 6:00 am / 2 Comments / 604munchies

Here we are again, eating at our regular filipino restaurant. This time our main reason for eating here was for their buko pandan sherbet dessert that Colleen likes so very much. And as for me, any reason I can eat crispy pata is a good enough reason to go to a filipino restaurant.

See our first visit here.

We wanted to eat something hot, not spicy hot but as in cooked hot so we ordered ourselves some fried noodles called cha-mi. We liked this dish, it came hot and freshly made. The sauce wasn’t over powering and it was a nice change from your regular chow mein. It’s basically a fookien style thick noodle with some vegetables. For some reason though the noodles on our dish was very short, like broken end pieces or something. And that’s basically the only complain here, maybe they could be more generous with the amount of noodles next time.

Can’t go without some lumpia shanghai with Colleen. Deep fried spring rolls are a must! This order came out hot and it tasted the same as last time, filled with stuffing.  Pretty solid deal.

Of course I myself can’t go without my crispy pata!! This is a large size in terms of portion order. They offer a variety of sizes from small, medium and large. There isn’t a lot of meat regardless even though it is a large, the bone underneath took over most of the plate. However, taste and texture wise this is still great and is a must order for me all the time.

We also got an order of garlic fried rice. It had large chunks of garlic for a great flavor and it wasn’t clumpy or mushy.

Finally the main attraction for the evening, the buko pandan sherbet!! The waitress was kind enough to fill ours to the rim! To the point where it was over flowing lol. We gladly took a spoon each and went at it from both sides of the cup.  It was delicious as always.

Overall our dinner was solid and we had fun being seated right by the door and even had to share a table with a family of four.

Hi Marv, I think I like Pinpin more than Kumare. The portions are definitely bigger and the taste is good too.
