Italian Kitchen #2

Yes, another visit to Italian Kitchen!  I enjoyed my last visit with Belinda very much, so I knew I had to come again, this time I brought Marv!  🙂  We ended up coming here during lunch on the weekend, pretty much showed up right when they opened(so we were guaranteed a table inside!) 🙂

See our first visit here.

Surprisingly, there were 2 other tables in the restaurant occupied by the time we arrived!  Darn, and I thought we would be the first!  We were led to a table right beside the doors leading to the ‘patio’.  It turned out to be quite windy during our meal, and of course I ended up sitting on the windier side with no hair tie…my hair went nuts! 🙂

For the sample, we received a Risotto Fritter this time.  For some reason I had thought it would be a doughnut with risotto filling, but it was actually hollow inside.  The dough had a hint of risotto flavouring to it.  I thought this was pretty neat!

Again I had to have the Calamari again after the first visit.  It was too good not to!  🙂  Unfortunately, as appealing as the picture looks, I was disappointed with this dish.  It was much too salty and the sauce had no kick to it as it did the first time.  Marv decided to get the Lamb Pizza shown above right.   The lamb was pretty good, not too game-y, however it is loaded with mushrooms to the point where all I could taste was the mushrooms.  After 3 bites, I could not eat anymore of it as the flavour was far too pungent.

Well I bet you thought I would’ve ordered the spaghetti again!   Actually, I did want to, but at the last minute, I decided to go with the Kobe Meatball Panini which came with soup, Cream of Mushroom.  I know.. more mushroom?!  I was a bit weary to touch the soup, but it was quite light and not too creamy.   The panini turned out to be a great choice.  It also comes with an onion ring atop the meatballs.

Overall I enjoyed the 2 visits here at Italian Kitchen.  Food and service has been pretty solid and I’ve put this restaurant as a must repeat when I’m in the area again.  🙂
