Cabin 5555

After dinner at Tokyo Thyme, Belinda and I headed over to Cabin 5555 for drinks.  Upon looking at this picture below, the dark windows above Cabin 5555  kinda creep me out.  Reminds me of a thriller type movie where something is about to pop out of(haha okay, I can’t watch scary movies….)  It was a friday night, and I had expected this place to be busy, but there was only a couple of other tables occupied.

Cabin 5555
5555 West Boulevard, Vancouver BC
Tel#:  (604) 263-5155

From the outside it looked like it was empty, however once you walk in, you are led to the actual dining room upstairs.

For our drinks, Belinda reached out of her norm of a regular milk tea and indulged in a Taro Slush with Pearls. This was blended pretty smooth and was pretty sweet.  The pearls had a nice chewy consistency.  I decided to try their Soy Pudding with Pearls. Usually I like Pudding milk tea, but I thought I’d give this a try.  You get exactly what you think you’d get.  It’s literally soy pudding with syrup in a cup with pearls.  Surprisingly, it’s not as sweet as it appears, and there was a nice amount of pudding in it.  I’d probably try this drink again if revisit.

Overall, the place is a lot quieter than your regular bubble tea place as it’s not infested with youngins with music blaring on the speakers.  This place also closes quite early, so I suppose this helps keep the place free of rowdiness.  Next time I’ll make a point of coming by for an actual meal since we noticed there were some cheap deals on their menu which included a drink!  🙂

Oh, suck it up, buttercup! I mean, this is Vancouver West Side, how bad can it be compared to, say, Ovaltine Cafe at 9:00 p.m.? 🙂

Anyway, for some reason, I rarely bothered to visit restaurants in that part of town. To me, there was sort of an invisible barrier from Burrard going west and Cornwall going south. Having said that, unless the population in the area REALLY changed, I won’t be expecting a BBT place to be doing a lot of business. But, at least, hey, it sounds they had something decent!

haha, that’s so true! 🙂 but pfft, can’t help it if I scare easily :p

We are opposites, I hardly head anywhere north of Cornwall… okay maybe I just don’t enjoy heading downtown… with all the ridiculous parking meter rates and dodging jaywalking pedestrians… ugh, definitely not a place for me haha 🙂

Yeah, it was already pretty dead in Kerrisdale when we stopped here for drinks, so their hours do cater to their location. You should step out of your norm and give the Soy Pudding drink a try! lol 🙂
