Five Guys

October 26, 2011 6:00 am / 2 Comments / 604munchies

Park royal mall was our destination for the day, and of course we got stuck in the traffic from downtown but we patiently made our way to west van and enjoyed chatting all the way there.  Okay fine, we were starving and couldn’t wait to get there!   We couldn’t decide where to eat, so the first place we spotted was Five Guys and decided to stop here for a quick bite.

Once we arrived and found parking a few steps away, we made our way to the restaurant.  It was hard ordering from the lady at the cashier because I don’t think she heard me properly, We originally ordered the regular sized burgers but for some reason, she tagged in ‘little burger’ for both our orders.  And I only noticed this after we paid and sat down.

We grabbed a large fries as well with our meal and it was a large order of fries indeed.  Surprisingly enough though, I found the burger portion to be big enough for me, I know eh? Colleen grabbed the one with cheese of course.  After eating half of the fries and my burger, I was already full.  Taste wise, I don’t get all the hype, this is a very basic burger and there’s really nothing special tasting about it at all.  The only upside are the free peanuts on the side, but I’m slightly allergic to peanuts, and not extreme allergic because they do cook the food here in peanut oil.

Overall our meal experience ok, we ate here before and the quality and standards have remained the same.

ive had 5guys twice, once in the united states and once at the surrey location.
I like it. Its a great loaded burger cooked well. It has tons of flavour and fills you up for a reasonable price. If these places were as convenient as macdonalds, I’d eat there every week. The burgers are awesome and the fries are a very good deal.

Agreed, if there was a closer location, I’d probably visit there more often. They definitely load up on the fries, we always have a ton left in the bag, it could fill up another cup of these! 🙂
