After a disappointing trip to Adonia to find out our reservation was lost, we decided to walk over to Tokyo Thyme for dinner since we had already paid the meter in full for parking. Luckily this place was only a short walk away, it was a really hot day to be walking far distances! =)

It’s quite a small place, but it felt very comfortable as we walked in. We were greeted warmly and left to choose a table to our liking.
Belinda had been here before, so she strongly recommended a couple of dishes. I was up for anything, so we went with them to start.
First to arrive to the table was the Sashimi Salad. It had a generous amount of fresh sashimi on top of a bed of greens. Next came the Red and White Tuna Stack. I love dishes that require assembly/mixing/anything interactive. For some reason it makes me want to eat it so much more!
This had red and white tuna, yamaimo, avocado, quail egg, served with a side of sushi rice and seaweed for assembly. Since we had not ordered this before, our server explained that we would have to mix the stack up and wrap with rice and seaweed. The tuna stack melded quite well with all its ingredients, this was my favourite dish of the night.
We ended up ordering 2 rolls. The above left consisted of tuna with a piece of radish. I thought the radish was unnecessary in this roll(so maybe we should’ve just got a plain tuna roll instead). The roll on the right was topped with avocado. This was satisfying, but not something I would reorder.
Overall, my favourite dish was the Red and White Tuna stack. I’d definitely come back for this dish and to try out the rest of their menu.
