Cascade visit #2

April 11, 2012 6:00 am / Leave a Comment / 604munchies

Finally, after months of raving to Colleen about my visit to Cascade with Kevin, I finally got a chance to bring Colleen with me here for dinner.  And just like the last time, Kevin was along for this visit too.

Kevin was a tad late (not really, we were very early lol) the waitress who sat us down gave us a dinky little table in the middle of  the bar and the normal booths, not only was the table tiny, the seats were super high.  Which doesn’t make sense to me but I guess it’s modern and upbeat to be uncomfortable and have no space to put your plates anywhere.

So after convincing another waitress if we could have a booth because we were here to eat and not waste time lingering, she gave us a booth.  Which doesn’t make sense because the people who had the booth before were only a company of 2(we were told booths were reserved for tables of 4+).

Here we go, an order of their palenta fries.  Really nice and crisp.  I highly recommend this to anyone, will not go wrong.  It comes with this dip, that can be described as riDQulous…….get it?…….It’s a very nice change from the regular norm of fries, but as you can see, a change doesn’t mean Colleen won’t order fries as well!!  See below.

Tuna salad on the right was so-so, Colleen and Kev both loved it but I thought it could have been done better, something along the lines of a warm salad with a marinated style tataki for the tuna.  Why not, the menu is all over the place already.

Now these mussels are what I really came back for.  I must admit, it wasn’t as spectacular as the first visit but it was still close.  The sauce is a cream curry base of some sort.  The only thing missing was a straw, yes, a bbt straw.

Oh and what do we have here, FRIES.  Normal fries is all.  Just fries.

As like last time, the calamari was not a good as before, I hope this isn’t a pattern.  Still tasty but not as crisp.  Don’t get me wrong, I would still order it on my next visit, but I would for sure like to go for their pizza again.

Overall our dinner was good, a couple of pictures didn’t turn out good but the pitcher of beer was on special and we finished that in like 5 minutes, I guess pics first before we all start drinking lol! 🙂
