It’s my cousin’s birthday and she decided to have brunch at Provence Marinaside. Marv ‘n I hardly head into this part of town and were definitely excited to come try this place out. I probably wouldn’t have even come across this place had she not suggested it. Thanks Rose! 🙂

Although it was already a bit later than brunch time, the place was still pretty full. We were fortunate enough to find parking right out front, I’d imagine parking in this area would be tough during peak hours.
For a Sunday brunch, Marv decided to get the Pick Me Up drink to start off his day. It had 2 shorts of baileys and 2 shots of espresso on the rocks. This was pretty tasty and was definitely named correctly! On the right is the Mango Tango, I thought it would be a fresh fruit drink that they whipped together, but it came in a bottle which she graciously poured out into a cup for me at the table.
To start off our meal, Rose and I eyed the Basket of Baked Goods on the menu and immediately stated we wanted to get an order of that. Before Marv could object, we already placed the order for it. In total there was only 5 pieces of pastries in the basket. Overall, we weren’t impressed with the basket of baked goods. I think we had all expected something a bit different, or warm baked pastries in this basket. On the right is the Baked Eggs Florentine. This was a lovely dish, potatoes were seasoned/grilled nicely and the baguette arrived crisp and not soggy beneath the eggs. It was a hearty portion.
On the left is the Smoked Salmon Bagel. Value wise, we thought it wasn’t worth it compared to the rest of our dishes.
On the right is my order of the Poulet Grille Panini. This had grilled chicken, mushrooms and mozerella in a baguette with a mixed green salad and artichoke. I was pretty surprised with this panini. It was really tasty and the bread had a nice crispy crunch to it.
Overall, it’s a nice place to enjoy a leisurely brunch near the water. They also have patio seating which would have been a nice alternative to the table we had. Our server was pleasant and delivered our food/drinks & refills efficiently. Upon looking at their menu online, it advises to ‘refrain from using cellphones while in the restaurant’. Unfortunately it looks like no one in the restaurant knew about this policy as it seemed like everyone was using their cellphones inside.
