There’s a lot of hype surrounding a couple of sandwich places and we were happy enough, or at least I was that we parked right in front of one without even making it a purpose to find this place. And yes, this was right after we ate at Provence Marinaside……
Between Two Buns
1271 Homer St, Vancouver BC

Upon entering I immediately noticed the big kitchen area in the back which was all very clean and presentable. Having never been here before I took forever to decide on which sandwiches to get. Luckily for me there was three of us here so I didn’t look like a pig by ordering 3 of them!
Colleen and Rose are busy looking across the street at the dessert place Ganache Patisserie, which I don’t really care for but know we will be heading over there once I get my buns.
The guy making the sandwiches had a really cool shirt on which read, BACON STRIPS!, It reminded me of epic meal time(on youtube).
On the left here is the other half of my CHEEKY sandwich, which consisted of pulled pork and slaw….I thought the filling was real good. Flavourful and a ton of it packed into the buns….only thing though, I hate this type of bread. It’s too much of a filler. I hate thick bread. It wasn’t crusty, it absorbs most of the jus from the pork/slaw but yeah, did not enjoy the bread. I ended up eating around it to finish of the pork and left the bun.
To the right we have the MANIAC, tons of bacon, arugula, tomatoes…I had a bite of this and still preferred the cheeky. C’mon! Pulled pork n slaw. But for what its worth this sandwich has its purpose, think BLT modified.
And finally I did say I ordered 3 right, well….Rose was too full to eat the BIG KAHUNA so it was her dinner instead, no picture here and can’t review it for you guys….so Rose, leave your comments below and hopefully the sandwich wasn’t too soggy by then. =]
