Marv decided to surprise me with a visit up to Whistler since I had never been before. He even took the initiative to ask around for suggestions on what places to eat at! Yes, I’m still pretty shocked but was pleasantly surprised. During our drive up there, a police car made a quick u-turn and went zooming up the hill! We were wondering what the hurry was, but around the next corner, he had pulled over a car that had also just recently zoomed by. From that point on, we knew we should only do the speed limit haha.

Our first stop was BBQ Bob’s. I have to admit, this place is a bit confusing! It’s located beside the Nita Lake Lodge and the sign for BBQ Bobs is as above. It also shares the same entrance/building as Roland’s Pub. We had thought the entrance was only for the pub, so we walked around the building only to find that their is indeed only 1 entrance. We noticed this happened a couple more times to incoming customers as we ate our meal.
Needless to say, we were the only customers when we walked in. I guess most people come during the evenings. As we ate, 2 more tables of asian people came in! We thought that was kinda random, and both tables decided to sit surrounding our table. Even more random. Oh well.
Above left is Marvs order, he went with the Beef Brisket and I went with the above right, The Big Slick. There was quite a bit of brisket on his sandwich and it was quite tender. The best part of it was the bbq sauce they had at each table. It was sweet, yet tangy. My burger on the other hand was just a burger. I didn’t find anything special about it, and the bun was cold and tough. I guess it didn’t help that we had just gone to Max’s Burger the night before and I had an amazingly juicy/saucy burger with a super soft in house baked brioche bun. Mmm….I’m beginning to salivate just thinking about it!
Of course I couldn’t have eaten my meal here without french fries! I really did enjoy this basket of crispy fries.
Overall, the food here was just average. I admit, we didn’t really try any of their BBQ items in this place besides the BBQ sauce on the table. I guess that should’ve been our first choice considering the wall was full of awards and ribbons! I suppose there’s always next time.
