Everytime we drive by this restaurant, the parking lot and streets are packed with cars.  This definitely peaked my interest since it’s close to home and I really wanted to stop by to try their dim sum.  Finally that day has come!

Rogue opened another location on Broadway & Ash.  It’s diagonally across from the Cactus Club there.  I find there’s a ton of restaurants in that area now and parking is becoming way too limited.  Nonetheless, I was excited to finally be giving this place a try.

Since we had already eaten dinner, we only wanted something to snack on.  It’s not often that Marv shouts out while driving, ‘hey there’s a restaurant that you wanted to try? Do you want to go try it now?’ So I knew I had to jump on the opportunity even though I was still stuffed.  We decided to go with the Fries x 3.  The 3 consisted of, gorgonzola cream & bacon, classic poutine and truffle oil & parmesean.  Out of the 3, liked the gorgonzola one the least.  My favourite had to be the truffle oil & parmesean with a close 2nd of the poutine.  To the right, we also shared the Chicken Cobb Salad, which had avocado, roma tomatoes, bacon, egg and ranch dressing.  The salad was lightly dressed which we appreciated and it was fresh and crisp.  The chicken was grilled nicely while still being moist.

Overall we were pleased with our snacks here at Rogue.  There was also a dessert, but unfortunately I started to eat it before I remembered to take a picture of it.  The food here was nicely done and the service was superb.  The place feels laid back, we will definitely be back for a full meal the next time.

Laura and I were on our way to Thierry for lunch and dessert when we spotted Dunns on Seymour.  We were stuck in traffic so I suggested we stop here for lunch and then head to Thierry for dessert.  Laura was onboard with that idea and we quickly snagged up an open parking spot on the side.

Marvs friend Kevin told us about Dream Sushi so since we were already in the area, we decided to stop by for a visit.  There’s metered parking in the area, but if you venture into the side streets, you’ll be able to find free parking there.

The place is smaller than I expected.  Its walls are plastered with coloured paper with drawings/words from previous Customers depicting what they liked/ordered.  I thought this was a nice touch as I enjoyed reading/looking at each one and thinking to myself how they can all draw better than me!

This post is actually 2 separate visits combined into 1 since we ordered mostly the same things the 2nd time around.  The service is friendly and attentive, but sometimes the food takes awhile to come out.

They have lunch specials where you can order 2 items for $6.50.  I was feeling pretty hungry and decided to get 2 rice items.  The first one on the above left is the Curry Chicken on Rice.  It was expected that it would be a smaller portion and it really was.  The picture makes it look a lot bigger than it was.  To the right is the Chicken Teriyaki with Rice.  The chicken was nicely cooked and I enjoyed the vegetables in this dish.  I definitely enjoyed this more than the curry.

Marv decided to order 4 pieces of the Toro Nigiri.  It was fresh and had a nice fish to rice ratio.  He thoroughly enjoyed the 4 pieces.  To the right is the Peking Duck Roll.  I’ve been on a peking duck craze lately and this was surprisingly really good!  There was quite a bit of duck meat in the roll with a layer of skin across the top.  I pretty much gobbled this one up all by myself.

So I enjoyed the roll so much that I had to order it again during our 2nd visit!  This had a lot more green onions than the last, but the meat was still plentiful and the skin was crisp.  Just as good as the first time.  I can’t remember the names of the other rolls, but Marv and Kevin said they were good.

Since I had also enjoyed their chicken teriyaki, I decided to order it as my meal.  This time I opted for brown rice.  There was a lot of chicken and even more bean sprouts/vegetables on the bottom of this dish.  It came out sizzling on a hot plate.  The chicken was again moist and nicely done.

To the left is theVolcano Roll.  It’s a negitoro roll topped with scallop and a black sesame sauce.  I’m not a fan of black sesame, but the combination of it all went well together.

Overall we enjoyed both visits to Dream Sushi, we found both the service and quality to be quite well done.  I’d definitely be there early otherwise you’ll have to wait for a table.

Wandering around Whistler Village and we stopped to hide in the shade.  It turned out to be an extremely hot and sunny day.  We ended up stopping midway through the village to cool off with some frappes from Starbucks.

Marv decided to surprise me with a visit up to Whistler since I had never been before.  He even took the initiative to ask around for suggestions on what places to eat at!  Yes, I’m still pretty shocked but was pleasantly surprised.  During our drive up there, a police car made a quick u-turn and went zooming up the hill!  We were wondering what the hurry was, but around the next corner, he had pulled over a car that had also just recently zoomed by.  From that point on, we knew we should only do the speed limit haha.
