Usually during winter time, I get the urge to bake! So this time around, I decided on chocolate chip cookies. Mmm… I love the smell of fresh cookies. I’ve recruited a baking buddy for this one. I went to pick up the ingredients after work and headed over to Belinda’s house 🙂 Woo! Bake-athon here we go!
Ingredients: (makes about 3 dozen)
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (about 12 ounces) semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Step 1: First, I like to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine the butter with the white and brown sugar. The recipe called for an electric mixer...

Step 3: Since we didn't have one on hand, I had to do some manual labour! Beat until light and fluffy.

Step 8: Drop tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Looks awesome! Is there a reason you use berry sugar? I’ve never tried using berry sugar (but I don’t bake much).
There was no actual reason…besides the fact that the grocery store only had berry sugar left on the shelves.. haha I had to go buy all new ingredients to bring to Belinda’s house to do our first baking session =)
Great recipe! I have a few cool cookie recipes of my own on my blog. Check it out: http://munchkie.wordpress.com/2010/12/09/santa-bait-holiday-cookie-recipes/
I also like using 2 eggs in my chocolate chip cookies (but only the yoke from one of the eggs). I love that your cookies look so plump with the chocolate chips poking out of them…
Oh dear, your cookies look so good! Looks like I’m due for another baking session with your recipes! =D
