Mamak Cafe – Pub340
340 Cambie Street, Vancouver BC
Tel# (778) 708-9249

Marv and I were lucky enough to be included in this tasting event at Mamak Cafe located inside Pub340. There was quite a number of people who made it out to support this event.ย  Please don’t be discouraged to enter into the pub as you would not expect to have such authentic Malaysian cuisine here, but it is actually quite worth the trip!

We decided not to take any photos of the food and leave it up to the professionals since we were seated at the same table as Ben and Suanne ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Please wander off to their site for a better introduction to Mamak Cafe ๐Ÿ™‚ Mamak Cafe Event hosted by Chowtimes

Overall, Marv and I had a great time at the tasting event.ย  The food at our table was very good and well prepared.ย  The owner/chef Charles and wife Julie were also on hand to explain the dishes and we found them to be quite humble and charming.ย  There was a LOT of food to try out, we were all pretty full before we even got to the dessert.ย  We’d like to thank Charles and Julie for the delicious meal and to Ben and Suanne for organizing/hosting and to everyone else who helped out with this awesome event!

Finally, I’d like to thank Ben once again for the Teh, as it was delicious! ๐Ÿ™‚

OK, now check out how teh tarik is made in Malaysia. They don’t call this Teh Tarik (pulled tea) for nothing:

Cool event =) I’m sorry that I go to BANANA LEAF. There’s also Tamarind Hill in New Westminster but you probably wouldn’t like it …
