I decided to hang out with my best friend Belinda for the night rather than Marv! Heehee, we all need a girls night sometimes! =) I’ve walked past this place a few times while heading to Congee Noodle King on the same block and have always wanted to give it a try, however congee seemed to always overrule this place. So I took this opportunity to finally give it a try!

There isn’t much to the decor, actually the place is quite small. I really liked the clock picture on the wall though! Too bad it doesn’t work though(no, it was not almost 4!) lol 🙂
We ended up sitting in one of the booths, I do wish they would provide cushions or something for their wooden benches. It got a bit uncomfortable sitting there after awhile.
Belinda ordered the Green Milk Tea with Pearls shown above left. She found this to be not too sweet and had enough of a green tea taste to it. I went with the Taro Coconut Slush shown above right. Normally I’m unable to taste the coconut, but in this drink, it was quite strong. I enjoyed this drink very much!
Belinda decided to order the Braised Pork in Soy Sauce with Rice. Surprisingly, it was not too salty and there were quite a number of soft pork pieces. The side dishes were neither hot nor cold, not sure which way they were aiming for.
Lately I’ve been on a salt & pepper chicken binge, so I went with the Salt & Pepper Chicken with Rice. This was overly peppery! I didn’t get a clear picture of it, but it looked like they accidentally over poured the spice. There was a pile of it on the chicken and on the plate. I ended up only eating 1/4 of this dish before giving up.
I also found it a bit difficult to flag someone down(even though the place was quite small.) It seemed like they were too busy conversing with one another than to look up at any of the customers. If I were to come back again, it’d probably be for take out, but then again, I would probably be more inclined to visit Bubble World just down the street for my drink fix rather than back here.

Oooh…the salt & pepper chicken didn’t look too appetizing…have you tried the ones from Tapioca Express in Richmond? I find they have the best so far in 604! Next would be Magnetic Cafe’s…but that’s the only thing that’s good there…so no point of wasting money…hahahah! We hardly suggest “not to go” somewhere…but Magnetic is bad.
haha yeah, it wasn’t that great, but the drinks were good! =)
Nopes, I haven’t tried the ones at Tapioca Express, I’ll make a note to check it out the next time I’m in the area! =)
Haha, I hear the same things about Magnetic, will not visit! lolol
The chicken looks very crispy and seems like it’s a fair decent size pieces.
Taro Coconut bbt combo sounds tasty. Is that a common combo? I don’t think I have ever noticed that combination when I go to bbt places. I am defintely going to look closely at the menu for Taro Coconut the next time I go for bbt and try it.
