I’ve been neighbours to this establishment for years and I have never gone in. lol. I have a regular shawarma place on Main street and I do make a point to drive all the way down there, lol I’m often seen at the Blenz next to this establishment having hot chocolate and sitting by the bench on the opposite side lol. Usual hang out spot lah.

TahΓ΄ is a Philippine type of snack made of fresh soft/silken tofu, typically used a a sweetener is arnibal (a combination of brown sugar and or vanilla syrup), and pearl sago (tapioca) This comfort food is a signature sweet and can be found all over the country usually sold by street vendors, markets and local restaurants.
As what the card reads, you need to order by phone in advance and it takes up to 30mins to heat up. I like both versions, hot and cold is all good, and if you don’t eat fast, I will finish this bucket easy. =)
I let my sis do all and every one of orders so far and its working. lol, they know her face and name as soon as she enters. lol. a REGular!! lmao
BIG FAN of TAPIOCA here. absolutely luv that chewy goodness………..I always order extra pearls in my bbt, and its no exception here. I know Colleen always says how sweet I am already, but I like my taho just a touch more sweeter for that added umph! =)

Hahaha so THIS is the famous Kabob tofu pudding place LMAO
haha yes it does exist!! =) How come you don’t like pearls?!? =)
LMAO iono…I just don’t like…starchy stuffs? In BBT I usually order pudding or coconut jelly, never pearls…
I finished it!!! I finished the rest of the tofu!!! Hehehehe! I did share a small bowl with MomJ but rest was all mine!!! Thanks so much for this yummy dessert!!! This is THE “kabob grill”…hahahahahaha!!!
LOL!! Yeah, we really like the tofu here too! I try to get Marv to bring me some when he comes over since he lives so close to it =) I remember the first time he went there, was soo disappointed they didn’t actually sell kabobs! hehee
BG you are so skilled, I can not believed you finished it all so quickly.
It was so good! I have not had such good tofu dessert for quite a while.
This is my favorite taho place, The taste and texture are exactly the same way it is in Manila. In Manila, we have taho vendors selling this from door to door. You will hear them shouting TAHOOOO!! LOL.

BTW, I always order the unsweetened version of taho. The arnibal will sweeten it. And if the sago becomes hard after keeping it in the fridge, you can soften it by microwaving the arnibal for a few seconds.
Door to door?! ….I …am…so..jealous.. lol! If only they offered that here as well, maybe I’d stay home more often just to eat it! lol =)
oohhh, good tip! The first time we had it, we left the sago in the fridge and it indeed became hard….wasn’t sure if microwaving would help or not. Thanks Crispy! =)
You can get authentic Filipino taho in Vancouver??? OMG thanks for the tip! I’ve been going to Excellent Tofu on Alderbridge which is refined and quite good, but there’s something to be said for the brown sugar syrup bringing just a touch of rusticness π
I miss getting a cup of taho from all the street vendors hanging outside the gates of my elementary school when I was a kid – it was actually considered “healthy” by my parents so I could have as much as I wanted!
Hey Daily Slif!
I’m also a reader of your blog as well π
Haha, I’ve been going to Excellent Tofu as well, but when I tried the one at Kabob Grill, I haven’t been back since! π
Be sure to order ahead of time so you don’t have to wait as long when you pick it up!
Wow! I keep hearing stories from everyone about how taho, etc was so readily available everywhere as they were growing up in south east asia, I do want to make a trip out to see for myself one day =)
Awesome – thanks for reading! Heading to SSW with Bao now for king crab π
Lol, I heard the dinner was really good, will there be a post up for it?! π
