This restaurant is now closed.
Habit is a restaurant/lounge located on Main street. Thanks to a recommendation by Marvs best friend Kevin, we headed over for dinner to try this place out. Apparently the owner of this place also owns The Cascade Restaurant located right next door. Check out Marv ‘n Kevs visit here. =)

Inside the walls are decorated with strips of carpet. There are booths lining the walls, it’s a good place to leisurely sit and chat over a nice meal.
Our server was friendly and very attentive despite all the tables he had to take care of. We definitely liked the vibe he was giving off =)
It felt like a really long day, so I decided to get a beer to wind down the day. I’ve never tried the Whistler Honey Lager before, it seemed to have a bit of an aftertaste with it.
Marv thought the portions would be small here, so we decided to order FOUR things! Portions were definitely not small! Starting off with a Beet Salad. This consisted of mixed greens, goat feta, pistachios with a spiced vinaigrette. He’s been craving beets for awhile now, and he certainly enjoyed this one! The pistachios went well with the big chunks of beets in this salad.
Next we decided on the Grilled Cheese with a Potato Bacon Soup. They used aged white cheddar and brie for this cheesey combination. I absolutely loved this dish! The bread was nicely toasted with butter with a nice amount of melted cheese in between. I think I could eat 2 orders of this next time! LOL =) Just a note, but usually there are only 2 pieces per order rather than 4. This is because there was 2 end pieces that they did not want to waste and ended up including it in our order, so don’t be disappointed if you get only 2 pieces with your order!
Marv decided to go with the Steak & Frites for his entree. This was a recommendation by Kevin, he did not steer us wrong! =) It was an 8oz ribeye, mushroom butter, tomato provecal, aioli with a demi glace. The fries had a aromatic truffle oil smell to it. We really enjoyed this dish. The steak was cooked to a medium rare, but it was bit too chewy for his liking.
And I chose the Tuna Casserole for my entree. This came in a cute ceramic pot with organic mushrooms, asparagus, penne with a parmesan crust topped with seared albacore tuna. This was also a great dish. Once I dug into the pot, everything was piping hot, it even retained its heat! I stirred it 15 mins later and it was still full of steam and too hot to eat. I thought the tuna had a very strong peppercorn taste to it. I’m not a big fan of peppery dishes, so I didn’t enjoy the tuna. The casserole was very tasty and rich. I would definitely order this again.
Alright, of course we didn’t finish everything, and this was with Marv at the table! lol =) I ended up having to pack up the tuna casserole for home.
Overall, we really enjoyed this dinner. The food here is pretty awesome!! Yes, AWESOME!! =) This is definitely a place that we will return to, actually Marv wanted to order some calamari from cascade next door as well! LOL! Thanks for the great recommendation Kevin! You’re now 2 for 2! We probably would’ve never ventured here on our own if you hadn’t mentioned it lol!
