Kyung Bok Palace

Our good friend Albert L. is leaving for a 2 month vacation on the other side of the world. And it is one crazy schedule. Yes, we are all kinda jealous about it but I’m sure it will be tiring as ever. All that good chinese food, shopping, luau’s, surfing….. LOL So in his honor we are having a little get together, I call it the “have a safe trip and don’t forget about our souvenirs dinner” LMAO It was a toss up between ayce Japanese or Korean…………we went with Korean bbq this time around. I wanted somewhere with tons of parking and easy access for all of us, so we decided on the Korean place in lansdowne mall.

I got there exactly the same time as Eldon did. We both arrived early and had a few minutes to chat before we headed in with Kevin W. The place was quiet and clean. We looked over the menu and kept ourselves busy with kev’s new ipad2. The screen protector thou, it kept a lag on the finger drag, hahaha….get a new one kev. lol

Once everyone got there, we started to basically order everything on the menu. Side dishes were the first to arrive. The usual stuff:  kimchi/ bean sprouts/ sweet potato/ seaweed and radishes.

The waitress was very insisting that we ordered by saying the number of it, rather than naming the dish. So we said give us all of it. lol

Our meat came in small amounts. Don’t know why, I mean, there were 6 guys at the table plus one little 2 yr old boy who will be a future ipad lover for sure. LOL

The meat itself wasn’t very tasty. Not much of a marinade to it. Just a combination of beef/ pork and chicken, all were kinda plain and boring. The grill was in front of Albert and X-Fan, so they took care of the grilling.

Other than the meat there was also the seafood pancake and the pork bone in soup. Pancake was good, the sauce helped a lot. But the soup was actually pretty tasty.

Finally, what seemed to take forever and we thought it had been forgotten was last to arrive to our table. The sushi. It was a combination of spicy tuna/ dynamite and katsu pork rolls. Nothing special in flavor, just heavy rice fillers. LOL Again, it took forever to arrive!

All in all, the dinner was more than enough to fill us up. Flavor wise, there wasn’t much there. I’d like to say the last time I ate here was about a year ago. The selection on the menu has shrunk dramatically from before and well, I probably won’t be back here anytime soon.

I’d like to thank my friends once again for their patience with the whole picture taking thing and to Mr. Kwan for introducing to us his 1st born baby boy Justin. It was fun watching him eat and he had a great appetite to boot for eating rice and veggies. lol and Mrs.Kwan of course for letting your husband come out LMAO………….which was funny because right after we got out and were planning where to go for bbt, the Mrs. called aaahhaahahaahahaaha
