Parker Place Food Court

Ever since I stopped working in Richmond, I have been deprived of my usual spot for lunch.  Parker Place.  I remember it was always busy/packed in the food court during lunchtime on the weekdays(okay, weekends too)   Has this changed?  Now, in order to get my fix, I have come here for dinner and it’s far less busy.  I actually like it better now, no more having to wait for an empty table and trying to snatch it up before someone else does!  =)
It was a weeknight, so Marv, his mom and I ventured off to Parker Place for dinner.  Our first stop of the night was Curry Kitchen

His mom ordered the Shredded Chicken with Egg on Rice(above left) and the Baked Ham and Cream Sauce with Spaghetti. This was a takeout order for Marvs dad and sister.  There was a lot of sauce for the rice dish, it was overflowing out of the box!

His moms next stop was Shanghai Goodies.

Okay, wait a minute.  Hot and Sour Soup with Noodles.  What??  I didn’t know such a thing existed!  I love Hot & Sour Soup!!   And now that it’s been made into an entree, even better!

This is my GO TO place for BBQ Pork on rice.  I used to frequent it to much that the lady knew my order, and how I wanted it even before we got to the counter =)   Ahh, how I miss those days!

Yes, I like the ‘skinnier’ pieces.  You must be thinking how ‘non-asian’ that is, lol!  But I really enjoy it more than the fattier pieces!  Actually, I normally just eat a few pieces and I’ll eat all the sauce & rice.   I’m already salivating thinking about this meal lol! =)

Marv decided to try out this place.  Luckily for him, I was on hand to help him pick out his dinner lol!

We went with the Beef Pancake Roll. This was quite good.  The wrap was crisp and not doughy.  There was enough sauce so it wasn’t dry.

Next was the Beef Noodle Soup. The soup was very fragrant and tasty.  The noodles were nicely cooked, not too soft.  This was on par with actual taiwanese sit down restaurants.  We very much enjoyed this stall =)

Marvs mom also ordered a Stir Fried Vermicilli for take out.  This was a bit dry with lots of bean sprouts.

Overall, our meal here was pretty good.  It’s a great place for cheap eats and generally gets really busy during lunch/weekends.  The food here gets the job done, and tastes good too.  Parking on the other hand is just plain terrible.  Actually, I’m not sure if it’s the parking that’s the problem, or the people trying to park/navigate through the lot.  Hmmm =)

Wow, the BBQ pork look so good. haha, I like the ‘skinnier’ pieces too. I find that they’re tastier than the fattier pieces. I think I’ll go try out the beef pancake roll 😀
