Naan Bites

Dinner at Queensborough!  Marv has been eyeing this place for awhile now, so since traffic was pretty bad, we decided to have dinner at Naan Bites before heading home for the day.  We arrived before 6 and the place was empty…however as we were busy trying to decide what to eat, the place got quite busy!

Naan Bites
805 Boyd St, New Westminster BC
Tel#:  (604) 527-9997

Upon entering the place, you can smell the indian spices in the air.  It got us really hungry, really fast!  The guy behind the counter was friendly and created a chill environment.  Must be because he’s pretty laid back and emotes this ‘comfortable’ feeling.

We decided to get a bunch of items since we couldn’t really decide what to get.  Above right is their Tikka Masala Rice Bowl. There was a lot of peppers in this bowl, but they are very generous on their curry.  After a few bites, it does get pretty spicy.. but I couldn’t stop eating it as it was pretty tasty!  If you’re eating this dish for lunch, it’s definitely a perfect size for it.

Next up is their Butter Chicken Wrap. This also has rice in the wrap.  Marv thought the flavours in this wrap were excellent.  The wrap was pretty packed with chicken and rice.  This will definitely be a repeat for him.

Above left is the Fish Pakoras and on the right is the Vegetable Pakoras. The fish pakoras was a hit for Marv, whereas I enjoyed the vegetable pakoras more.  The mint dipping sauce is what really sold this to Marv.  He ate every last drop of it!  The pakoras were very crispy and at times too hard to bite through.

And how can we go without ordering any naan??  Above left is the Potato Stuffed Naan and above right is their Garlic Naan.   We enjoyed the garlic naan more than the potato stuffed version.  There were ample amounts of garlic on top of each piece of naan making it extremely fragrant once it arrived to the table.  Each piece was soft and chewy.  I enjoyed eating this with my curry.  The potato stuffed version was also good, it had a ton of potatoes between each layer.  It just had too much going on for me to be able to rip it off by pieces to dunk into my curry.

Overall, we both agreed this place has great tasting food at good value.  It’s definitely a place to go to for a quick bite.  Marv has already decided he’ll be a regular here as he enjoyed everything about the place.  Let’s hope our next visit lives up to this post! =)
