After a pampering appointment in dt with Belinda, we decided to head over to Italian Kitchen for dinner. We did not have reservations, so we were a bit weary about getting a table on a friday night. Luckily we were able to snag the last free available table which ended up being outside on Alberni. Even with the sun in our eyes, we decided it would be better than waiting!
Our server was courteous and prompt, we were brought our drinks almost instantly. They also provide a small sample before your meal. This changes up daily, we received a small saucer of risotto each. We both agreed this was nicely seasoned, after sampling it, I wanted to change my entree meal to the risotto, but I figured I’d just give it a try next time. 🙂
For a starter, we went with the Calamari. I like the spoon-tongs that they provide, it sure helped scoop up some of the sauce! The calamari was crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. This was definitely easy to eat, and we both enjoyed it. The sauce had a bit of spice to it so it came as no surprise that by the end of the dish, I was gulping down water!(haha, yes yes, I have a really low tolerance to spicy food). Above right is Belinda’s order, Linguine. I did not try this, but Belinda seemed to really enjoy this.
And I went with the Kobe Meatballs with Spaghetti. When this arrived to the table, I was surprised by the size of the meatballs! The spaghetti was topped with some truffle cream which made the dish taste much better than I originally thought it would.

ITALIAN KITCHEN! SO JEALOUS!! and shame on you for your lack of photos and descriptions. You have been slacking. *thumbs down*
LOL my bad… I didn’t get to try Belinda’s dish so there wasn’t much to comment there lol! =(
The linguine was delicious! I enjoy my cream sauces LOL. I really liked that the service was impeccable, the waiter was attentive and kept on checking up on us without being too intrusive.
Being able to eat out on the patio is always a big plus for me! =)
Great review! Those meat balls look huge! I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant, good to hear that you had a great experience 🙂
Thanks munchkie! =) I enjoyed dining here so much that I had to go back again the following week lol! 🙂 The meatballs were definitely the star of my dish though, can’t wait to see your post =)
