It’s breakfast time again and this was no exception, we’re driving a good short distance for this place lol. You see, we live closer to North Van than we do to Richmond, so this drive is even closer and faster for the both of us. And yes, we both drive fast for this route, I mean c’mon….who needs super cars right !! LOL And we always have to call whose driving and today Colleen beat me to it. =)

So when we decided on trying out a new place in north van we decided on this famous place that I’ve never heard of before till today. LOL The outside appearance is pretty cool. The inside is a bit tinier than what I thought it might have been, I mean, we got seated in a booth that’s like edge of elbow to elbow.
The decor inside is very cool and I’m sure creepy at night, look at those tiny sculpted heads! Creepy at night in the dark for sure. LOL
The paper place mat will keep you busy enough what with all the reading available on it. And as usual Colleen ordered up a cup of coffee and I a glass of water
Colleen got herself an omelet filled with bacon and cheese. I had a bit of this and it was very well done, not dry or runny, but just right. And look at the portion size for this plate. It is massive! A really filling start to the day. The hash browns were particularly tasty, small tiny cubes of flavored goodness.
I ordered up the famous yukon breakfast and I enjoyed it. This gigantic portion of breakfast came with yukon style bacon, a couple of eggs (I chose free range for an extra fee) hash browns and four slices of toast. This is certainly enough to share between 2 people or one very hungry person in the morning. Naturally I finished the whole thing but that’s just me. In terms of taste, it’s pretty basic stuff. The bacon is better when it wasn’t over crispy, you can taste it better.
Overall our breakfast was enough to fill us both up and we both took a nap after we got home, hey don’t judge, I’m still on vacation…..LOL I still prefer the german breakfast from fraser park. There’s just so much flavor going on for every single bite with that meal. I highly recommend anyone to give that breakfast a try.

I am surprised you were able to take pictures of their space. When I went there some time ago, I was playing with my camera at the “bar” and one of the managers (?) almost wanted to chop off my head because I was holding one. It seems you are not allowed to take pictures because of the First Nation decorations inside – some of which were stolen a couple of years ago, from what I was told. On my way out, I inquired about the no camera policy, they told me they actually have a (not visible at all, I must add) sign stating that. Because of what happened, I had a bitter taste in my mouth and, as a result, vowed not to go back.
KimHo: Yikes, that’s odd, maybe they’ve relaxed their rule since your visit. =) I also didn’t see a sign in the restaurant, but then again, I wasn’t really looking for one either. Several members of their staff saw us taking photos and we were never approached nor told not to take any…so we figured it would be okay. Nonetheless, the breakfast was just alright, but not good enough to make us head back again to visit either…we’d much rather visit Fraser Park again next time =)
I find that hard to believe they dont allow cameras……they were just on national TV – The Food Network’s Diners, Drive and Dives. This place is a must go for their steak pie and their yorkshire pudding……both worth coming back!!!
The sign that says “no photos” is clearly posted when you walk in the door. It’s very visible. It’s your ignorance that caused the staff to come over and say something to you. Don’t blame the restaurant for losing you as a customer. Your making a lame excuse for not returning to the restaurant.
