Colleen wanted up to try out the KEG in yaletown for the longest time now but since I’m no fan of the parking there it has taken this long for me to give in. LOL So to make things more interesting we decided to hang out with our usual suspects.

Upon looking at the building itself I found it to look quite nice and normal. Once we entered we were asked if we were okay with the stairs or the elevator? I was kinda looking confused because I didn’t know that there were upper floors to this place. We went with the stairs of course. We got seated at a very cozy, tucked in table for six. Our friend Sharon was already there waiting for us because she only works 3 blocks away from this location.
Once all of our party arrived, we started of with a bottle of wine. I found it to be a bit on the bitter side as I prefer a sweeter version of a Riesling myself. However after a few more sips it started to grow on me. After viewing the menu for a little bit we decided upon our orders.
Bread and our ceasar salads came next. I’m very impressed with our waitress for the evening. She was quite personable compared to regular places.
Colleen and Belinda ordered their usual prime ribs both at 10 oz each………same great taste sitting at medium rare.
Meryl and I went with their baseball cut. I found it to be a bit flavorless with too much chewing involved. But it is pretty thick. A good portion too.
Sharon went with their special of the day, which was their fish with garlic mashed potatoes.
And since we couldn’t not get dessert, the girls ended up with the creme brulee and a slice of the Billy Miner Pie. It was nice of them to handwrite Happy Birthday on it for Colleen. Happy Birthday!! =]
Overall dinner was average, we’ve all eaten a the keg before and they are all pretty similar. Always pretty solid. It was nice to hang out with some real, good people and I can honestly say that I really enjoy their company. Oh, just to mention, this location offers valet parking at a steal for only $10. I already used up $12 in coins parked 3 blocks away for the meter!
