It’s my birthday month and we went to Ihop to claim a free birthday breakfast! If you haven’t caught on already, I am a huge fan of breakfast staples! 🙂 We headed over to Ihop on a clear sunny morning, I was anticipating a great breakfast to go along with a great day.
IHOP
10551 Saint Edwards Drive, Richmond BC
Tel#: (604) 273-8253
Once we entered, we were greeted warmly by the host and led to a window seat. Our server came to take our drink order, but I found her to have a bit of an attitude and she came off quite rude.
The free breakfast you get is the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘n Fruity breakfast. This came with eggs, bacon(I opted for all sausage), sausage and 2 pancakes with fruit topping and whipped cream. This of course was a lot smaller than the regular version of the Rooty Tooty. The eggs were rubbery, there was no taste to any of the items on the plate. The pancakes was bearable, but only after being smothered in the strawberry, whipped cream. Marv even had to put syrup in order for it to taste complete.
This was on special when we arrived. The Crispy Chicken Burger with Fries. Upon reading the name of the burger, we both thought it would be a whole piece of chicken rather than 2 chicken strips. Needless to say, we were pretty dispapointed with this burger. There wasn’t enough of the chicken to go with the burger and it was extremely dry. There wasn’t enough mayo to mask their strips. The bun on the other hand was very thick, which helped fill you up as the chicken would not have.
Overall, we left the place unsatisfied and unwelcome. We agreed that Denny’s will be our breakfast/greasy burger place to go to instead of Ihop. It was a miss in both departments.
