Here we are at Ebisu on Robson! I should mention that this was our 2nd stop for the night and we were all rather full so I thought we weren’t going to order too much…boy was I wrong!!

Out of all the locations, this one looks the most hip/modern. We were lucky to snag a comfortable booth without too long of a wait. The place was pretty packed and still had a lineup as we were leaving. I guess it’s a pretty happening place to be!
Not only is it happening, its doing! Like this place was busy. However the crowd the goes here are rather on the younger side, did I feel old? Naaaaah…
Since a couple of us have already started drinking earlier, ahem, Colleen and Bel still hadn’t had any yet, so they started with their signature ‘hello kitty‘ drink. It’s pink and super sweet. I took a sip and went back to water (the DD is me) and here comes our orders, up top right is their prawn gyoza. I didn’t even get to try this because I was already full from the other stuff. And yes, our gigantic table was still not enough to hold all the food we ordered.
Two dozens oysters and I still don’t think it was enough for us. I felt like I ate a dozen so quickly. It came with a combination of sauces to add on so what I did was mix the whole lot with more tabasco and that was super yummy and not overpowering. Just a hit of sauce per oyster was perfect. All the pieces were fairly generous and they were all rather fresh. Just one thing I noticed though, a dozen oysters here is $2 more than any other ebisu’s…..maybe it’s the decor.
Here we have some tuna sliders, good concept but rather boring and bland. They added cheese to it which in my opinion didn’t really do the tuna justice. On the right is a sashimi salad, this order was nice and presentable. Lots of filling and very fresh ingredients.
Colleen wanted two things, first of is a ramen noodle….this was rather basic. It’s normal and edible. I liked its simplicity and check it out, it came with a whole egg!
So far the best deal of the night was their chicken karaage! This portion was massive for its price. The chicken pieces were big, tender and delicious. Go order this with beer and you won’t regret. On the very dark picture to the right is their unagi bowl. A very fresh piece of eel and it was rather big in terms of its portion. I enjoyed this dish very much and be sure to let the rice stick on the hot bowl to make em get a crispy texture.
And I really don’t remember what this dish is called but I’m pretty sure it was good lol =] It was a long night really, plus I had to wake up at 3am the next day for work.
Overall our dinner here was solid, we enjoyed the vibe and the servers were on top of all our dishes even though it was really busy. We like eating here and would recommend this place for any parties with friends or just to hang out and have a good time, but don’t forget to order the chicken karaage! Best value for sure!
