We didn’t have any place in mind when Colleen came over to pick me up with her friend William so we drove around for a little bit and decided on some pho, but since none of us had any cash in our pockets we had to look for a place which was close by that wasn’t ‘cash only’
2411 Nanaimo St, Vancouver BC
Tel#: (604) 253-6223
Upon entering the place we were greeted promptly and noticed how busy it was inside. You can’t really tell from the way it looks outside but the place was rockin on the inside. Also noted the day we visited just happened to have a few birthday parties going on at the same time. And there was a belly dancer which later danced for everyone during dinner.
We started our meal with a Caesar and some zuchinni sticks. The sticks were so-so, nothing fancy. Fried zuchinni is yummy and I’m a fan of anything deep fried anyways so it’s all good.
The drink was only ok according to william and it could have used more alcohol.
You get a choice of salad for our meal and well, I chose a thousand island dressing just to mix things up. William had the moussaka for his meal. I didn’t get to try this but thought the portion size was average and looked pretty good.
Again, just to mix things up I ordered a steak. But unfortunately, this portion was just a tiny 8oz and well, it didn’t really have any greek spices thrown on it. Hence it was just a boring piece of meat.
Colleen always some how ends up with a chicken souvlaki. BORING!! I found this to be a small portion as well, I didn’t think anything spectacular about the taste and it was a tad dry in my opinion. Oh well.
Overall, this place is a neighbor to us and our friends order take out from here on a regular basis, I personally didn’t find anything special about it. I have my regular greek restaurant already, so this place is probably not a repeat for me at all. Yes, I know I didn’t order anything such as the roast lamb or calamari but seriously, I took a few bites from my friends before and I wasn’t really impressed then and now I’m definitely sure about it.
