It’s Sunday and my parents wanted to go out for lunch to this fish soup place that I had no idea even existed. So I tagged along for some good wholesome family time and a free meal! When we got there I couldn’t really see the place as we had to park at the back lot of one of those many restaurants there. After that we walked to the street area and found the place next to Kamdo….which makes this place newish.

I didn’t even know this place existed because I don’t eat in this area regularly enough. As we all already know, lack of parking is more than enough of a reason to make me go somewhere else. Upon entering the restaurant I was very impressed as to how clean it is and quiet it was. Only one other table was occupied and the couple there was having hotpot. We were asked by the waitress if we wanted hotpot or soup. I was kinda confused but my mom said soup and everything was figured out quickly. I guess the way they worked their menu was the soup meant like a noodle soup bowl rather than the ayce hotpot.
Looking through the menu it’s easy enough to understand and figure out. There are various flavor mixes available. You pick out the soup base, type of noodle and ingredients to it. Easy! You also get a choice of beverage with every order. I got a honey lemon drink while my whole family grabbed a hot drink each.
So my sis made a choice of herb soup with laifan noodle. The broth was surprisingly very herby! It had a good herb flavor to it and it wasn’t salty. This portion was massive and was only $7.50. Who can complain!
My mom took a tom yum broth and it was rather sour and strong in flavor. Not spicy at all and her noodle of choice was the korean type, clear potato noodle. This was also massive in portion, we couldn’t finish this order at all.
My dad got himself a teriyaki chicken rice bowl. But according to him it said chicken rice on the menu. I had to taste this one as well as it just looked super yummy when it arrived. A massive serving of rice on the bottom and my dad couldn’t finish this too. The chicken was well cooked and the sauce on top was good. This will be my order next time.
So I was a bit ambitious and ordered a baked pork/seafood topping on rice. This took the longest to come out and by the time it did I was already full from sharing with everyone else’s order. The pork chop was thick and juicy yet still had a crispy crust to it while the seafood side had plenty of fish pieces and a couple of mussels which I couldn’t eat anymore as I was ridiculously full.
Overall our lunch here pretty good because the restaurant was quiet and the portions are massive. I’ve learned to just order 2 items amongst 4 people next time. We did come here to try out their house special fish broth but that was forgotten and a must try for next time. I did however enjoy the taste of all the stuff we ordered and I would definitely be back again for lunch.
