Browns Social House

Browns Social House, I didn’t realize they opened one up closer to home.  We’ve been to Browns a couple of times and food as always been just okay, nothing stellar about it.  Tonight Marv ‘n I were joining my friends for dinner and Browns was the destination.

Browns Social House
#2 1908 Rosser St, Burnaby BC
Tel#:  (604) 568-8144

Alright, I have to admit, the place is nicely done.  I like all the booth seats that are available and the thick wooden tables that you dine on.  The place is slightly dim, unlike Joeys Burnaby which was so dark that I couldn’t even read the menu even if it was held up right to my eye!

We were first to arrive so we decided to order a couple of drinks to quench our thirst.

After some arm twisting, Meryl was able to persuade Sharon to share a bottle of wine with her 🙂  Peer pressure at its finest!!  Just kidding 🙂  Above right is the Tahitian Tuna Salad.  This consisted of lemongrass crusted albacore tuna with wasabi mayo and sesame dressing.  On first glance it appears to be quite a big portion, but there didn’t seem to be many pieces of tuna besides the 3 shown on the right.

We had also ordered a plate of Nachos to share.  There was a ton of green onions on top which I didn’t care much for.  I liked how they spread out the cheese between the layers of chips on the plate.  Each biteful had a nice amount of melted cheese to it.

Marv decided to go their Hollywood Burger which had cheddar cheese(on the side…left of the burger).  Marv found his burger portion to be quite small and unsatisfying.  I decided to go with their Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger(to the right.)  This came topped with jack cheese and bacon with a chili mayo sauce.  I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken burger, it was crispy and juicy.  Definitely something I wouldn’t mind ordering again.

Next to arrive was the Fire Roasted Tomato Fettucine.  Blackened chicken was added to this entree, and it also included garlic toast.  The portion looks a bit small but that’s because this was only 1/2 of the regular portion.  They were nice enough to split this into 2 plates since a couple people were sharing.

And for dessert on the right is the Pecan Pie.  I ended up not tasting this one, but the table agreed it was tasty and well done.

Overall, I enjoyed dining at this Browns location and am glad one opened up closer to home.  This will probably be on my list of places to head to for drinks in the future 🙂
