Colleen has been busy planning and arranging cakes for the both of us. First it was my birthday cake and now our anniversary cake. We don’t really get to eat a lot of cake on a regular basis but we didn’t realize that it would go into a state of shock all of the sudden with an influx of cakes lol! Now for this whole week we’ve had three cakes already =]
This cake for today is a very nicely decorated, hand crafted design of both our bikes. And the inside is filled with coconut and strawberry. It is very moist and dense. Deeeelish! I already ate half of my share of the cake and I must admit that it hooked me on the very first bite. I do like eating cake for some reason lately and I don’t know why. Maybe my tastebuds are changing towards the sweeter side of things.

This cake was purchased from Sweet Stuff Cakery located in Vancouver. I had originally wanted to order Marvs bday cake from here as well, but unfortunately the time/location didn’t work for me. I knew I had to try and order a cake from here so I decided to splurge on a cake for our anniversary. I had contacted Jen from Sweet Stuff first, and she was more than willing to help me think of ideas and helped me decide what would be best. Trust me, Strawberry Coconut was absolutely delicious! I have never had any cake with this type of filling before. It’s not your typical sponge/mousse cake, no no no! The cake was extremely fragrant when I took it out of it’s dome(you could even smell it from the outside!)
I’ve included some more pictures of the bike models on top for better detail. Jen informed me they would be a bit small in size, so I wasn’t expecting too much for detail, but I was blown away as to how great it turned out! Yes, these matches our bikes pretty exact(colour-wise and design) I am thoroughly happy with how this cake turned out! Throughout this whole process, Jen was great at keeping me informed and asked enough questions to ensure that I would be getting the cake as we envisioned. I’d definitely order another cake from her in the future, would definitely love to see how a bigger model would turn out! 🙂
