Finally, we’ve made a stop at Curry King. We’ve driven by this place countless number of times and always say we’ll stop to try it, but today is finally the day! It was fairly cold out with some snow still on the ground. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived, we just assumed not many people were out because of the weather.

The menu is pretty big, it took me a while to flip through it and decide on what I wanted to eat. I actually wanted to try a few more dishes, but ended up with only 1 thing as I wasn’t too hungry.
Complimentary soup came with 2 of the dishes we ordered. Cream soup with bits of ham and corn. Surprisingly it was pretty thick, I guess I’m just too used to the watery kind served at other hk cafes. On the right is my noodle+soup combination. I decided to go with Rice Noodles with Sliced Beef & Beef Brisket Laksa Soup. The laksa soup was quite watered down, there wasn’t much of a taste to it. I’m not sure why I chose rice noodles, but it definitely didn’t go well with this combination. My mistake :).
Marv decided to try the Pork Belly Stone Rice Bowl. Ok, originally he wasn’t going to order this, but he saw a picture of this on the table and he pounced on it! It arrived piping hot to the table, the sauce it was accompanied with was more on the sweet side and incredibly tasty. This was hands down the best dish of the night.
You can’t come to Curry King and not have curry right?? Marv also ordered their Curry Chicken which was on special. Once it arrived to the table, we both had the same expression on our faces(that’s it??). Never judge a book by its cover…guess we didn’t learn that lesson. The picture is quite deceiving, there was actually a lot of chicken piled into that plate! We both kept pulling piece after piece of chicken, it was neverending! We both enjoyed the curry here, it had a nice kick to it and was quite tasty.
Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience here. We’ll definitely be back for another visit since we both have a few more dishes in mind to try next time.
