Laura and I were on our way to Thierry for lunch and dessert when we spotted Dunns on Seymour. We were stuck in traffic so I suggested we stop here for lunch and then head to Thierry for dessert. Laura was onboard with that idea and we quickly snagged up an open parking spot on the side.

Upon entering the place, we were warmly greeted and led to a huge table. The place was fairly quiet, but it was already 2:30pm, so the lunch rush must’ve passed.
The place itself is fairly big. Our server was pretty friendly and informative. I was in need of some coffee, so I placed my drink order first. Laura went with the Latte. I drank my cup of coffee really quickly, our server ended up brewing a fresh pot for my refill. I was already impressed and we haven’t even placed our orders yet.
Laura went with the Super Montreal Smoked Meat. This had 6 oz smoked beef brisket on light sourdough rye bread. She opted to have fries with her meal, it also comes with a sliced pickle and coleslaw. The meat was plentiful and this was the first time she had rye bread. It was a good hearty sandwich.
And I went with the Famous Dunn’s Rueben. This is a double stacked smoked meat on dark rye with sauerkraut and melted swiss cheese. This sandwich was pretty big. After 1 bite, I couldn’t put it down otherwise it would fall apart. I barely finished 1/2 of the sandwich and ended up having to take the other half home(where’s Marv when I need him haha) I also opted to have a poutine rather than fries. The poutine was pretty solid.
Overall, we both enjoyed our meal here. Originally I was going to order my sandwich with lean meat, but our server advised me that it would be quite dry and recommended the medium meat which I ended up getting. It was a great choice. We were both pretty stuffed after our meals, and the service was helpful and friendly.
