This post was done in 2 separate visits. This restaurant is located in the Champlain Mall plaza. I’ve been here in the past and was never wow’d by it, but Kevin and Edwin wanted to come here, so off we went!
To start, Kevin suggested we all share the Cream of Corn Soup. This came piping hot to the table and was quite nice since I haven’t had this soup since I was a kid. To the right is the ‘Borscht Soup‘. This came with the set dinner meals on the menu. I was surprised by how much filling there was in each bowl. Albeit, it was mainly vegetables, but still there was ample amounts.
Along with the soup, they also offer a drink along with the set as well. To the right is Edwins order, the Kung Pow Chicken. Once it arrived to the table, I was surprised at the mountain of food that was on the plate! This dish had a nice aroma to it, made my mouth water.
Next up to the left was Kevins order. He went with the Make your own combination dish. He opted for the chicken leg, chicken wings and the steak
To the right is Marvs order, also the make your own combination. He went for the Chicken Leg, Ox Tongue and the Steak with Spaghetti and mushroom sauce. We ended up asking for more sauce as there is never enough.
Last but not least, I went with the Curry Chicken on Fried Rice. I ordered this during both visits. Portion wise it was huge! There was a lot of chicken and rice, both times I had to take 1/2 this dish home. The sauce is a bit spicy, at first you don’t notice it, but after each bite, the spice got more intense. I really liked this dish, definitely something I’d continue to reorder.
And you get dessert! A choice between ice cream and mango pudding. I opted for Mango Pudding, and you received a rectangular block of it.
Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience here. Even though our previous visit didn’t make an impression, these past 2 did for me. I can definitely see myself returning here on a more regular basis since my last favourite cafe started going downhill.
