Spicy Legend

We always pass by this place because it is right next to our regular congee place and this time around it was in the afternoon and we decided to give this place a try.  Judging by the lack of english on the front and just based on the pictures, this was an ayce hotpot joint rocking out some traditional style mainland cuisine.

So once we got in it was obvious that ordering would be some what basic.  Good thing for a ‘tick’ sheet.  And for most people who don’t know what I mean by a ‘tick’ sheet, it is basically a list of all the food they serve with your ayce course and you simply tick off what you would like to eat.  However my only difficulty with the tick sheet is that I never know whether I tick it or write down a numeric amount, I normally ask the server for clarification and go from there.

As you can see from this picture above, this place is decent, a tad stuffy but decent in terms of its cleanliness.  The panda looked cute, that’s why we took a picture of it.

Colleen and I chose a combination of spicy and normal non-spicy soup base.  I’m gonna simply say that spicy meant spicy.  The soup was rich in chilli and I took one sip of it and my chest started heating up.  LOL.  Very tasty , don’t get me wrong, this is perfect for winter time.

We got the regular fixings and such, everything else was typical of any other ayce places so no need for more pictures if you ask me.

Overall, our dining experience was pretty good.  The place was rather empty but it was far from quiet.  I’ve never seen so little amount of people in a restaurant being able to generate so much noise!  Service was prompt and courteous.  I would definitely recommend this place to those who miss the feel of a more traditional feel of the mainland.
