Twisted Fork Bistro

I look forward to the weekends because that’s the only time I have during the week to go out for brunch.  Finally we found the time to make it downtown for brunch at Twisted Fork Bistro.  I have to admit, I almost walked right past it!  (Ok, maybe I did walk past it.. won’t be making that mistake again)

Twisted - 00 Outside

Twisted Fork Bistro
1147 Granville Street, Vancouver BC
Tel#:  (604) 568-0749

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile now, but could never find the time to go.  Finally we’ve made it!  Luckily we arrived within 10 minutes of opening and snagged up a table.  It was pretty much packed with a lineup out the door shortly after.
Twisted - 01 coffee Twisted - 02 cream sugar
Of course I couldn’t have my meal without coffee.  I liked how the coffee came in a press,  I enjoy anything that makes it just a little bit more interactive.

Twisted - 03 french toastTwisted - 04 french toast
So, I decided to go with the Banana Stuffed Brioche French Toast, it came topped with icing sugar and vanilla whipped cream.  I was surprised by their portion size here.  It was huge!  I knew I’d have a hard time finishing it, but thankfully Marv was here

Twisted - 05 Croque Twisted - 06 Croque
Marv decided to get the Croque Monsieur with pesto dressed greens.  This was also a big portion.  There was plenty of filling, 2 people could split this dish easily.  Marv thought it was cooked well and quite tasty.

Twisted - 07 Fruits n yogurtTwisted - 08 scones
Last but not least, I saw some scones being brought out of the kitchen and I really wanted to try them!  We checked out the menu again and decided to get the Fruit Salad with Asiago Scones, homemade jam and vanilla yoghurt.  The scones arrived to the table piping hot and was nice and flakey.  The homemade raspberry jam was delicious!  I tried my best to use the entire serving on my scone!  Unfortunately, the fruits weren’t in season so some of it was a bit sour and the rest were bland.  The vanilla yoghurt ended up being pretty tart.  On hindsight we should’ve just ordered the scones on its own.

Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here.  The service was friendly and attentive(although a big rushed), and the food was excellent!  It’s definitely now 1 of my ‘go to’ places for brunch now.  Be sure to get there early or you’ll have to wait in line! 🙂
